Because Bartoz Zmarzlik is by quite a long way the most naturally talented exciting speedway rider that has ever to set foot on a speedway bike and soon to become the greatest rider of all time too, he rides the bike like nobody past or present does and that’s where I stand, him being the ONE rider, quite simple really, I am in no way saying any British club should sign him even if the got him cheap ,I shall go to Poland to watch him if I want to see him race, I’m merely making the point he is the one rider who I would happily pay to see race multiple times a season

Me too Dean !

Quite a complex sale then you would think, given so many intangibles...

The "fixed assets" would be pretty simple (ish) I would think, although with Stox there too, there may be some "cross over" and the landlord owns some fixtures and fittings that Speedway uses? Eg the fence around the track maybe (?)..

But "goodwill" will be something widely open to negotiation you would suggest...

Presume it would be based on average income per meeting, with just KO Cup and PO Qualifiers  included as they are the only guaranteed meetings..?

(Reaching finals not being guaranteed, and, possibly, less meetings due to a reduced number of teams)..

And any sponsors already committed to next year would be, presumably, brought into the equation as "guaranteed income"...?

Operating costs though, next year could be less given Emil won't be riding, and, again, possibly less meetings to pay out for overall...

You have to hope it all gets worked out and Ipswich come to the tapes...

As Ipswich trade at a profit the initial asking price would be based on the value of that profit with any interest and tax paid added back. This provides an Ebit (Earnings before interest & tax) figure which a multiplier is used to create a selling price.
Example an Ebit of 10 with a multiplier of 6 would give a sales price of 60.
Goodwill would be the difference between asset value and the sales price.
Then comes negotiations where future forecasts and opinion on the likelihood of the business delivering same, higher or lower earnings in years to come.
It’s fair to say that with Speedway being in an apparent perilous state, potential buyers would be looking at a possible purchase with a high level of risk attached thus a lower offer (valuation of goodwill) could be expected.

Can the BSPL afford to do that with so few teams remaining?

Legally they are obliged to given a current contract/license exists.

Dan Thompson signs for Leicester.

very sad to see him move on but it’s a great career move for him as he rides the track so well.
been great to see him blossom from rising star to where he is now   It was dans improvement which gained us the league title imo

hope we get a chance to see you at foxhall

I would love him to do that to prove all the "doubters" of him being the GOAT wrong !

Still way behind Nielsen in my view.

But if ride in polish top league can only ride in 2 other countries.

In this weeks Speedway Star, Doyle confirms the Polish rules re "two other leagues only"...

As he is at Vastervik and Esbjerg, that would suggest no UK for him...

He also goes on to say that there are "other riders" who will follow suit if nothing is confirmed sooner, rather than later...

that rule is for 2027, not 2026 so Doyle is getting confused, also things are now confirmed, so he must mean its ipswich or no one else

I’m not sure what would be worse. Tolley and Rogers or no speedway.
plenty of vultures flying over foxhall looking for riders atm

To be fair, Tolley's not perfect by any means but at least he's passionate about British Speedway.

The same can't be said for certain CHAMP Promoters and Owners.

Issue is Tolley is no where near as professional as Chris & the fans favourites & points scores are now ruled out or signed elsewhere. Personally I’d rather see Ippo sit 26 out than have tolley in charge

Doyle has a finite time left in the sport ,therefore needs to make the best  financial decisions he can to maximise his income .

Heard rule for 2027 is Poland plus only 1 other league like it was a few years ago.

Would've been a cracking side imo.

1. J. Doyle 7.86

2. A. Ellis 5.92

3. D. King 6.50

4. K. Rew 6.19

5. T. Brennan 7.05 or T. Musielak 6.63

6. J. Jenkins 3.46

7. J. Edwards (RS)

= 36.98 or 36.56
