A decent RS is my wish, as this is the position we've struggled with in the last couple of seasons. I really liked what I saw in Dan Gilkes in his brief stint before he got injured and would love to see him back as our No.7. I'd trust Dickson in his judgement with the other six riders.

I wanted Ipswich to win it this year because I’ve felt they’ve deserved to for building consistently one of the best teams, and arguably the best in recent years and been so unlucky for one reason or another. Now they’ve won it, I’m aboard the Leicester train for 2026. Runner up twice in a row, I’d like to see them go one better next time. 
 

Make sure to retain Fricke as priority, and work down from there.

I'd say if they can get the reserves right to add to the kind of top five they’ve had the last couple of years then they have every chance in 2026.

Fricke will be a certainty if the points limit is high enough. Can also see Nick Morris being drafted back in. Unfortunately, due to their success Leicester will be punished by having to weaken their team. Dickson might have to go further afield and get some riders from the continent.

There's no such thing as a 3 point assessed foreigner is there? Thought the lowest they could be assessed as it 4?

Could be wrong, might have been a recent rule change? Not really followed British speedway for the last year or so.

That would leave 11.17 for the other three riders if the rumoured 36 point limit happens.

Fricke is simply unemployable on an 9.89 average if its a 36 point limit for team building.

If so, I presume it reverses the plan of a couple of years ago to make the top league clearly stand out, standard wise, from the 2nd tier...

Maybe down to TV money going? 

Or maybe down to reducing the gap with tier two to maybe encourage a team or two to come up?

Running with a 9 point rider will need a 3 point rider to balance up the six poiints per rider that a 36 point limit will bring, (plus RS which I presume will stay given such a low team average)..

3 point riders, plus an RS, won't do too much for the racing level I would suggest...

And there won't be too many "top riders" left also as no team can fit two in without seriously weakening the bottom end, especially if they have the worse RS...

Over 30 Riders finished with a GSA Over 6.00 in 2025.

Hope they dump the rising star scheme in the present form and replace it with something else, such as a lower points limit per team combined with bigger discounts for British under-25 riders

Got to be more teams coming in then if its that low surely ? a 5 team top league with watering down would be a disaster otherwise.
