I think that without the TV money and sponsorship now lost I personally don't see Sheffield running next season.

And I think if they are gone I think that will be us gone forever.

I think in effect without the TV money and sponsorship that directly brought in, EVERY club is in effect a Championship club

Didn't Mr Bates state that the club was in a good stable position for any new owner, and his reason for stepping away was the pressure of other work away from speedway?

Yes he is trying to sell the club... he ain't going to run it down is he 🤷‍♂️

Isn't Sheffield restricted to Thursdays only?

I seem to remember they changed to Sunday for a while but changed it back quite quickly....

Thursday would mean Premiership only wouldn't it?

Unless it went to one league...

Great to see that NOTHING has been learnt from the Birmingham episode!

Correct call in blocking Sheffield's CHAMP application (If true)

Whoever buys Sheffield should have it be known in advance that Sheffield have to run at PREM level (If it remains)

But nobody is obligated to buy Sheffield, and if this is the case the BSPL is making a conscious decision to make the club virtually unsaleable.

Landlords and Developers, Iain.....

They are to blame for all the issues the sport faces....

100%. The Landlords and Developers...

All their fault, this ...

BSPL have got to try tbf.

If we're going down then we have to go down swinging instead of throwing the towel in.

Sheffield prefer Thursday, but ran a few on Monday, and one National League on Wednesday.

Stadium is used for greyhound racing, so restricted by that.

I was told end of last week by another Championship promoter that Sheffield had asked to move back to Championship in 2026, but this week that request had been turned down.  Not sure where the club stands now as with no TV money (c£60k pa) and TruPlant sponsorship ending (c£20k pa) that’s a big hole to fill to have funds to pay for Premiership wages

How genuine is this information?

Whilst Premier won't want to lose Sheffield, reckon Championship would welcome them.

If its a straight majority vote then it only takes 3 Championship clubs to join the 4 remaining Premiership clubs to turn the request down....

i think the pushback would be it leaves the prem with 4 teams, and that isnt feasible so then the championship promoters are thinking the other prem teams will also want to move down, potentially affecting current team building.

Anything interesting said at the STAARS meeting?

Confident club will be in the PL next season

there will be a PL, lots of progress made in last 7 to 10 days

never applied to be in championship

sounded upbeat, hope it is true, only downside didn't win the quiz

Thanks for the info.

Good job that nobody let those wild rumours spread.

Hope to see the Tigers get a sale done ASAP!
