Tinker
I sometimes rate teams as to whether I would go to watch them away from home. This Scunthorpe side is one I would definitely not turn out for. Apart from Pickering it's very much same old same old and they will definitely end up at the bottom of the league if changes are not made. Apart from Picko and to a lesser degree Harrison, there is not one glint of excitement in the side.

Diamonds85 Posted yesterday at 10:46 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:46 AM What would Ablitts average be? If its his 2024 average - 2.5% it puts Scunthorpe over the limit.

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv Posted yesterday at 01:51 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:51 PM Rather ironic really that when one big league is discussed and the loss of the star rider is lamented by some it is defended by others stating "you still get great races with the likes of Simon Lambert" "great team man" "we could do with more like Simon Lambert" "we need to develop and look after our own" yet even the team that is signing the one we have don't seem greatly enthusiastic about it!! Surely every team should be fighting over him.......

I don’t think anyone can really begrudge the lad a reduction. He’s a young British lad that will more than likely be froze out the sport otherwise! Anyway he might not be in the team after all!

If it’s Lambert and Ablitt, Ablitt would need the 8 percent reduction. Scunthorpe have 9.33 points left to play with and Lambert is 4.49 with British reduction and Ablitt would be 4.91 with British reduction

Declined at least two invitations to ride for clubs he judged "too far north" didn't he?

To me it would be logical to say a Brit who didn't ride in the Prem or Champ qualifies for the reduction. But the BSPL announcement talked about riders returning to the sport, that doesn't sound like the Ablitt scenario.

I thought Pickering was 11.64 because his final average in the prem was 7.76 x 1.5 = 11.

The 11.46 figure includes 25 Sept v Leicester which is not included in the final GSA's And no his last Championship average is not relevant as he did not ride in the Championship in 2025.
