Littleze
What I expected really.. eff all! Nothing to look forward to (not that I was going to attend anyway) Hardly a press release to spark optimism or a future vision.

The press release includes all leagues. The part about returning clubs was not league specific.
YeOldPitGate
The only positive I can see is at least the top league didn't go with three home and away, at least with only potentially eight home meetings losses should be more contained but you just have to hope they don't start running home meetings once every 3-4 weeks with five teams they would be better off starting in May and done mid Sept. IainB
What a low key statement with many questions still unanswered and nothing really to address the future of the sport other than business as usual. ... a possible 6th team 🤷♂️ ... a possible 3rd competition in the PL, maybe they're going to finish the Jubilee Trophy off? 1

SteveArena
Once Louis flogs Ipswich do you think he will use the money to go in at Northampton or use Oxford maybe for a season?

I can't think he would do either if he has any sense, I think the chances of a sixth team are near zero unless someone who has money to burn can be found and is happy to take a six figure loss on the chin assuming the other five promoters don't agree to underwrite part of the losses. The issue with that would be the new Ipswich owner has to buy the club with presumably no Emil or Doyle and then underwrite part of the losses also for another track just can't see it. I think it was in hindsight always a fantasy idea to try and throw a bone to the fans of the top league.
Phannan
So the same 5 teams that were odds on to start this season, last October, are confirmed. Couldn’t they have told us that news then. That would have at least given us 2 extra months to rip into them for being useless… which they are 🙄 1

Or if they are hell bent on some kind of play offs at least lessen it so for example 1st position gets automatically placed into the final and gets to choose where to have the first/second leg, and only 2nd vs 3rd races for a chance to play the winners of the league. I see no point in 1st-4th being placed in a play offs, personal opinion which may be an unpopular one, I don’t know everyone else’s feeling. 🤌 First option it was. Colsimmo58
Having just seen the AGM Statement.I'm glad I dont support the Prem. The decisions made have no real change to last season and dont seem to look forward to the future of Speedway in the coming seasons. They still dont know if a Sixth team will enter the Prem, slight adjustment to the finishing order of the league, and a possible new tournament and it took them 3 months to come up with this drivel for 2026. No 3 or 5 year plan going forward,an absolute shambles of an AGM,just papering over the cracks. New Directors to the Board, what are they going to bring, and this Commitee of an MP and Harry Redknapp, that is absolute bollocks, they have no interest in promoting Speedway in the near future.

Unless they lose money on the POSF!!! This was my first thought too... One less "proper meeting" for the winners of the league itself? Maybe there is a decent financial prize this year for finishing top?? I am not holding my breath...
