There was a posting on Facebook. Very lengthy and wordy, I think from the owners/one of the owners of the stadium, basically suggesting speedway will never return at the stadium. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned on the forum? Steve Ribbons made a short comment at the time. Whether there are now more comments I don't know? Basically, the lady was saying, speedway is not sustainable at the stadium.

And maybe she has a very valid point.

Did anyone see Karlito's YouTube video about the ideal stadium, based around Poole?

Think he made some good points.. stadiums need to be utilised 7 days a week, with stuff that people want/need in todays society

Poole Stadium is hosting a Military Tattoo in September. That must be the first non-speedway event at the stadium since the greyhounds ended.

I've seen some of the abuse the owner of the site has been receiving on social media from "speedway fans". From an outsiders point of view it doesn't portray those fans in a very positive light and the local council would be perfectly entitled to say "on your bike" (no pun intended). 

I've looked at this from both sides. You can't force the stadium owner to reinstate the speedway if it won't make them any money just because some nostalgic fanatics still long for the good old days of Uncle Len. I actually thing an extension of the go-karting facilities or all-weather football pitches will bring far more benefits for the community and  local economy than an old niche sport will ever do.

Surely it’s not about what will or won’t benefit people most; it’s about completely disregarding the planning decision. Imagine if everyone did that it would just devolve into chaos.

The council are not entitled to say "on your bike" because of things supposedly said to the owner on social media, The council are there to sit and judge a company that ignored planning laws and went ahead and ripped out, demolished and built on the the track and stadium grounds that they had no permission to do. The council have to decide if the company is required to re-instate the stadium to the way it was when they got the lease no matter if they have an intention to run speedway or not. 

If this has to be done (which we all hope it will be on a matter of principle) then the next thing the council should look at is to see if they have broken the terms of the lease and if so could they legally invoke a clause in the lease and make it null and void and take the lease back and  issue a order for the tender for the stadium lease on the open market once again?

On social media, anyone can be a "speedway fan"...

Just like a crap restaurant can have great reviews...

Those sitting in judgement won't consider any personal comments made on some SM platform,, both positive or negative..
