ouch
They got the name following conversations with local people as the thing they kept hearing when mentioning Northampton speedway was ”wear the fox hat”.
Hamish McRaker
The "consortium" must be aiming to get it running and then selling on as a viable business, having put in the cash, spadework and legal grunt. They must have potential buyers lined up who have financial clout but its a big risk and i hope it pays off. The logo work looks low budget off-the-shelf style which conveys or affirms the impression that this "launch" is having to prioritise its limited financial, time and expertise resources on getting the essentials done and just up and running with a view to selling it on asap. So i wouldnt expect much to be done by way of initial local marketing and promotion, that will hopefully be taken on by subsequent owners. JamesHarris
Must admit Foxes is a weird choice. As others have pointed out that name is associated with Leicester and Leicestershire. I've been on google to look up any link with Northampton and all it comes up with is their rivalry with Leicester! Seeing as they will be racing against Leicester that might be a bit of a strange one explaining to the newcomer that their opponents are called the foxes! Perhaps the BSPL (who it is quite obvious are the ones running this) Have taken inspiration from the mess that is going on at Leicester City FC and thought Foxes would be ideal for us. Or maybe Morris or Godfrey saw a dead fox on the side of the road on their last visit to the raceway!! And let's hope for the sake of British Speedway that it is a success and drives new investment in the sport over here. It's obvious that 2026 is a year of compromise and survival at Premiership level. Of course, things should have been done differently and more transparently. Perhaps things have not panned out as expected. I hope Northampton gets enough support from the existing speedway community to get them to the point of generating sufficient ongoing support.

They really needed the whole closed season to get the word out - who would sponsor a club this close to the first home meeting with no information on club owners riders . I am Northampton born and bred and despite a lack of publicity (although the name and facebook page appearing yesterday) trust me there is a lot of talk locally even from non speedway fans , and in my humble opinion once it hits social media with blanket coverage they will hopefully reach 10000s of people with just 1 click , and once that happens news outlets and local TV will be all over it Edited 2 hours ago by weymouth alicat

It's generally not the done thing though is it... and in some cases can lead to legal proceedings Let's see if their colours are going to be Blue and White... and they sell a load of knock off merch at the track shop 😂
the hobbit
I know Paul from Birmingham. I found him to be very approachable and knowledgeable. He constantly mingled with the fans, seeking their views and opinions and most importantly, seeking to take those views snd opinions on board. I hope this is going to be a great success snd with Paul at the helm, I am very optimistic.
