British final 15th August

Recommended Posts

A huge coup for whoever got this back on national television. Here’s hoping that Phil Morris can organise a slick professional well run meeting and that ITV don’t opt to bring in their own presenters, leave it to the likes of Kelvin and Olly so the casual viewer isn’t put off by some clueless idiot who’s never seen a bike before.  Although a slight overrun of the program woukdnt go a miss catch all those viewers turning on for the EFL highlights at 9pm

Excellent news and well done to everyone involved in securing this.

Hopefully Belle Vue can play their part now and get those tickets sold.

It’s not a Belle Vue event. Ticket sales are currently very poor and they not going to sell many more now it’s on free tv.

It seems to be a view that is a Belle Vue thing ..

It isn't, it is a national event, jointly ran by all the promoters...

It is the BSP as a collective that needs to ensure a decent crowd..

Personally holding an event of a Championship level, at a track that held two GP's quite recently, isn't the best idea for me...,

Even more so when that track is running it's third meeting in less than 3 weeks..

When the British Final ran at Coventry, it was packed, as World Title hopes were on the line, World Class talent was in every race, and Supporters clubs ran coaches from over 30 tracks...

No one relied on Coventry to sell out the event by themselves...

This, if no Dan B is possibly the lowest standard of BF to be held ever...

A tough sell, and one it doesn't look like any promoters around the country have done anything about at their own track...

A coach from each would have got a thousand or so there..

Just checked my EPG for Saturday 7pm. Showing as motorbike show from 7pm to 9pm then football. The programme description does not mention speedway.

So let's hope the announcement is correct. The regular bikers will tune in to see the The Motorbike Show and just might stay to watch the speedway.

ITV4? You will have that channels regulars complaining that this bike rubbish is stopping them watching the 47th repeat of Minder, Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) and Department S.

Glad it’s being shown somewhere.

As mentioned above, it's replacing "The Motorbike Show" which is a series presented by Henry Cole & Pete "The Restorer" Thorne. So no one "losing out" really.

Take the announcement on board and let’s hope it turns out to be a success. If you can generate interest then it might just lead to a new opportunity for the sport in the UK and further afield. Just imagine televising a top Polish league match live with English commentary. Just one meeting at that professional level may make viewers want to seek out UK team racing. It has got to start somewhere so for all the doubters, you don’t have to watch, go and sit in the stands or just ignore the meeting and stop complaining when someone somewhere has pushed the boat out to get the sport live on TV on Saturday night.

They need to get the stadium as full as possible, maybe with forward planning if they knew this was likely to happen, sell £10 tickets a few months back to GP attendees.

Or get out tomorrow, Thursday Friday and Saturday into city centre Manchester and flog them...

Give 100 x £10 tickets to every track and see if they can sell them...

It is a British Final, not a Belle Vie individual meeting, so every track should have a presence there..

If this is hopefully the first of several then I hope there will be some way to mention/publicise all forthcoming fixtures and tracks over the following week or so - Premiership and Championship at least.

Poole riding against the best team in the World next Wednesday doesn't really need advertising.
