AJ
Gollob
Loram
Cegielski
Ward

At the old premier league level, from watching him every week for three or four years there was none better than Frank Smart. Every week around Newport he would pass heat leaders for fun. His pass of Kelvin Tatum was something else and also his memorable win from 15 ms back at Swindon against Steve Masters will long live in the memory.

Fry around Swindon was great to watch from the back. Harris around Trelawny as well.

There will never be anyone better from the back than Henka in his Lynn spell 1990-93 and nobody will ever convince me otherwise!

Agreed in the early days in my opinion he was better than T Rick and more of a natural on a bike, but Tony had the extra dedication that propelled him to the absolute top level, but those days with Loram and Henka at Lynn were the best times ever in my period following the sport.

You also had brilliant entertainment on the second bend with the  hard as nails fan Nutter bellowing Richard Knight at 20 thousand decibels on the ride round pre race then disappearing back into the bar for the whole meeting, knocking back 10-15 pints of flat beer and have a look on his face that said I will chin anyone looking in my direction.

I am showing my age with this comment but Ronnie Moore in the days of handicap league racing was brilliant. Starting on a 30 yard handicap at Wimbledon he would regularly be in the lead by the end of the first lap. He was also a master of team riding his partner to victory.

I would say in the Cradley days, Phil Collins was even better than Jan O.

I can remember Jan'O guesting for Lynn a couple of times maybe 1-2 years before he was world champion missed the gate every time but still smashed the opposition, can't remember much about Phil Collins although he was riding the time I used to go 85-93 so that's high praise indeed if you rated him better than the tiny dane.
