Yes we mustn't forget riders in the past when bikes were more difficult to handle requiring more subtle throttle control...Martin Ashby, Gordon Kennett, Nigel Boocock, Peter Collins, Chris Morton etc etc

Mark Loram like Bomber rarely made starts. Top at finding the dirt and riding high wide and handsome. Apart from when he rode for Eastbourne as he had to gate there. Joe Screen was another that was decent finding ways to pass riders.

all three of them came from grass track racing.....saying that the likes of Wiggy, Kelvin Tatum were good gaters.
