He was meant to ride for Danish team but did not due to injury but he is riding tonight so it must have been very minor to heal in a day or they decided not to use him and that is the excuse given. He missed a Tuesday night match at Glasgow last year (the one that the bike police were at), and was well enough to get on the podium at an individual meeting at Poole the night after, so clearly he recovers quickly from injury

Look at his scores at Lynn & Ipswich last week compared to his scores at the same tracks this week.

So if Lawson didn't have a Danish team, he'd either have to ride at Poole or get a 7 day suspension for a non-speedway injury. But because he has a Danish team who originally wanted to use him, he neither had to ride or get a suspension, how is that fair on all the riders who don't ride for foreign teams?

Imagine trying to explain things like this to a newcomer to the sport when people who have followed it for years can’t make sense of it. Why would a newcomer to the sport be interested/bothered, unless the 'explainer' was being negative??

This reminds me of when Miedzinski was withholding his services back in 2012, no guests were permitted until they rocked up at Lynn and were allowed one because he was actually riding elsewhere in an international meeting despite the fact he wouldn't have ridden anyway. Similar thing happened to Robert Lambert at Newcastle, I think he was maybe racing in an U21 meeting on the Saturday, wouldn't have gotten to Newcastle on time for the Sunday, so rode elsewhere - no facility allowed. When the Sunday match was postponed, they were allowed a facility because it was within 24 hours of his U21 meeting? Doesn't make sense to me as I'm typing it, but with Speedway's rules, I could be remembering correctly. 😬

I would think a new comer would be more likely to ask questions. My teenage daughter has been coming to the speedway for about a year now and she asks lots of questions and I’d have to answer I don’t know. I don’t think that’s being negative? Could you explain it? This is just yet another situation where the rules aren’t clear or even non existent. I still can’t point to the law that resulted in Workingtons points deduction last year. I’m not picking on this particular situation the whole system is broken. Any other sports in the case of Workington would have published the breach of the rule or law. This case is a grey area and there should be no grey areas. How can anyone take the sport seriously if the governing body doesn’t?

For such a low average rider Fredricksen is missing too much for Norwegian National meetings being one of their Top Men for to be a good signing. Not easy to cover. IMO a poor signing who doesn’t appear to be showing any improvement. Edited 3 hours ago by Fromafar
