Too much clay unfortunately, its good for stock cars though and that's what makes most of the money. I also think Lynn's track would benefit from the white line being taken in a bit. Shorter straights, wider bends. It can be good, we see the odd very good race but generally riders get too strung out too quickly and its very difficult to make up ground once behind because of all the heavy roost. Too much clay at Foxhall also. Again, stocks. The racing suffers as a result unfortunately. Because of the Stocks there’s also very little banking either. Louis was going to try and rectify that by lowering the inside to give it a banking “effect”, but the cost proved prohibitive when they realised all the drains would need digging up. Maybe it’s something that Coleman can now look in to.

Bagpuss those summer Saturday nights when Henka and Loram were young and hungry and the track was decent led to some superb racing, some of Lance Kings rides a couple of season's earlier were awesome also. I've got Simmo's book to read at some point I'm not sure if its true but I'm led to believe the signing of King nearly killed the club financially when I thought it was Bo Peterson that was the financial issue as he went from unbeatable round Lynn to terrible as soon as he signed for us ?

The Henka, Loram, Brhel years were awesome. Last heat decider every week. I can remember Petersen at Lynn in 1988, I think he dropped a couple of points off his average and didnt last the season. Had a falling out with Bill Barker over money and popped up at Wolves IIRC. Then of course finished his career over here very successfully with Arena Essex 1991-93.

That was when Lynn was a pretty regular trip for me even from Leicester on a Saturday or Sunday you'd be guaranteed an entertaining afternoon or evening of Speedway... how times have changed, they are currently back on my banned list due to ask the shenanigans over recent years and I really can't see me returning unless there's a drastic improvement in the track because we all know how it can be.
