Paul Hurry is becoming a joke.

Threw away a BP in our Home meeting vs. Belle Vue by not picking Rider of the Night (Musielak) and has now followed that up by blaming Stewart Dickson for track work taking place during a Home defeat to Leicester.

I don't think Paul has a clue tbh and a new Team Manager for 2027 should be on Mayfield's list of jobs to do.

Give Schroeck a go.

One league won’t make it better. What you really need to bring in new fans is two leagues which promotion and relegation. The sport needs jeopardy and punishment for finishing last.

Punishment for what? Everybody gets punished because it's a crap product!

8 and 8 somehow a semi decent top league and second division can be made up of the usual old hand double uppers Harris, Lawson, Masters etc and up and coming UK lads and sprinkling of overseas youngsters once home and away with second division tracks having 90% of riders uk based so they can run on a night to suit fans not riders.

This is my point though, next year Lawson, Harris, masters, even cooper and cairns and many more won’t be able to ride in both the prem and champ which will create an easier way to then have cup matches etc because you won’t have people in theory riding for both clubs potentially. You could have a British cup instead of just a league cup and incorporate all the British clubs in one cup. That would also force Poole and Glasgow and others to jump to the prem as they won’t have a good selection of riders in the champ.

I meant the whole league is a punishment as it's poor quality.

Contrived nonsense...

Simply set up to provide as many riders as is possible to earn a living.

With well meaning, Speedway loving, happy to fund affordable losses, promoters, all colluding together that the sport has some relevance...

Who wins?...

Who cares? ..

Technical tracks eh ;)

It’s always baffled me the level of hubris attached to track prep. Rather than the “I know best” mentality why not reach out and discuss things with other track men? Whilst all tracks are different things are also very much the same and the sharing of information for the good of all should be the goal.

Material make up and distribution, moisture, drainage, maintenance before during and after meetings are some of the things that the track men up and down the country need to discuss together on a regular basis and if they see results at other circuits don’t be afraid to quiz those involved to gain tips and tricks.

From a governing point of view, no club should be allowed to purposely prep a gate’n’go track as there is too much of that as it is. Speedway racing - fuelled by excitement.

I think I’m at the point with speedway now where I don’t care about home advantage. I think the best possible track prep for overtaking should be undertaken for each race. I would rather see multiple overtakes and great racing than gate and go and the home team wins. If you are a good enough team you should be able to win on whatever track if it’s prepared correctly and for racing.

Never been much of a problem with Ipswich track prep for a long time … it’s just not a good size and shape for great racing

This season the prep is awful

we know Belle vues track is the best for racing stop banging that drum as for many years you had Kirky Lane which was horrific

In the mid 80's and early 90's Lynn's track hosted brilliant racing even though mid 80's we had some truly horrible sides, but now it seems a lot of people think its dire.

Too much clay unfortunately, its good for stock cars though and that's what makes most of the money.

I also think Lynn's track would benefit from the white line being taken in a bit. Shorter straights, wider bends. It can be good, we see the odd very good race but generally riders get too strung out too quickly and its very difficult to make up ground once behind because of all the heavy roost.

Too much clay at Foxhall also. Again, stocks. The racing suffers as a result unfortunately. Because of the Stocks there’s also very little banking either. Louis was going to try and rectify that by lowering the inside to give it a banking “effect”, but the cost proved prohibitive when they realised all the drains would need digging up. Maybe it’s something that Coleman can now look in to.

Bagpuss those summer Saturday nights when Henka and Loram were young and hungry and the track was decent led to some superb racing, some of Lance Kings rides a couple of season's earlier were awesome also.

I've got Simmo's book to read at some point I'm not sure if its true but I'm led to believe the signing of King nearly killed the club financially when I thought it was Bo Peterson that was the financial issue as he went from unbeatable round Lynn to terrible as soon as he signed for us ?

The Henka, Loram, Brhel years were awesome. Last heat decider every week.

I can remember Petersen at Lynn in 1988, I think he dropped a couple of points off his average and didnt last the season. Had a falling out with Bill Barker over money and popped up at Wolves IIRC. Then of course finished his career over here very successfully with Arena Essex 1991-93.

That was when Lynn was a pretty regular trip for me even from Leicester on a Saturday or Sunday you'd be guaranteed an entertaining afternoon or evening of Speedway... how times have changed, they are currently back on my banned list due to ask the shenanigans over recent years and I really can't see me returning unless there's a drastic improvement in the track because we all know how it can be.

Don't the stocks run on the tarmac track, so why would the speedway track have clay in it
