semi pro footballers have jobs outside, they don’t go home early, even as a sub they will come on the pitch afterwards and claps the fans for there support.

Richard never done that at Lakeside, he was a legend for us, always had time for the fans, what has changed?

Is he starting his main job earlier so gets away as early as he can?..

Remember. This is a sport (in the UK), where riders can lose their jobs each season, (sometimes even during the season), for doing their job "too well"...

Therefore, I am not sure fans should expect, (or be surprised), if riders don't show any major emotional attachment to any of their (sometimes many), teams..

Nor fans be bothered if riders don't get too attached to team mates, who tomorrow may be a rival, and then the night after a team mate again, or again a rival, if either, (or even both), get guest bookings..

Personally I clear off as soon as the first rider completes Ht15 to try and get home as quick as I can, and many, many others do the same, (I would say the majority of fans there do it)....

I wonder if the riders complain that we should all stay until they have gone around on the tractor?...

If they have an unequal amount of rides just work out their average for that meeting to arrive at the better performer. We can then hopefully draw a line under this matter. Many thanks.

Bewley will give 110% in every meeting 

Kurtz won’t …. Didn’t call him a slacker … he is the best gater in the world and when he makes starts at Foxhall he wont be caught …. My point is if he misses the start or has a GP at the weekend he wont bust a gut and I stand by that… if he leads he wins if he doesn’t he isnt bothered and I actually don’t blame him if he has a world title to go for 2 days after riding at Foxhall 

Kurtz may well have outscored Bewley at our place it’s irrelevant in what I’m saying

No skin in the game for me, however...

I have seen Dan ride three times at Foxhall, and, from memory, eight points off five rides is the best I have seen him score, with a fair few thirds and lasts..

And none of his defeats included any "hunting down" of the rider in front or just "faiing to pass on the line" from what I remember...

They do that at Ipswich because it’s a pain getting out afterwards, one of the biggest reasons despite that track only being 50-60 min drive for me, is why I haven’t gone since Arena packed up.

And I get your point about riders riding for so many clubs it doesn’t matter to them but for some fans, they only see or are interested in what they do when they are wearing the body colours of their team, if some fans leave early then that’s up to them, they paid to get in.

It amounts to apathy on both sides of the fence, and that is not good long term for anyone, riders or fans.

100%, but the apathy is created by the feeling of the sport  just going through the motions, with no clear objective nor major rewards...

The apathy, for me, started to increase towards the end of Sky's tenure and has increased at an ever evolving pace since..

King 100% won't be there and unless his scores reduce massively he may even find it hard getting in somewhere else

Mayfield will be ruthless with team building for 2027, very few from this year will be back

Althought early days I can see something like

1. New Rider 8.00

2. New Foreigner 4.50

3. Brennan or Musielek 

4. Rew/Ellis 

5. Doyle

6. Rushen

7. RS

the track has got a lot worse this year and last night's meeting was a good example.  heat leaders not being able to pass reserves even with a few laps to line them up.  mayfield need to get Wroclaws input asap.  the weather this year is perhaps a mitigating factor but the racing has been dire on the whole

I agree although it’s a bit strange as Bob Ellis is still there doing the track as he’s always done. Musielak was busting a gut going wide trying to catch inferior riders in front of him and was actually going backwards.

maybe need to leave the inside a bit slicker and only put most of the dirt on from mid track

Wasn't there last night but same for the match with the Lion's Tobi tailed off badly in the latter heats as he couldn't find anyway to pass people despite trying really hard to from what I could see!

I do think moisture in the track is tough this year due to the really warm dry weather - when did Ipswich last have any meaningful rainfall?
