Once again they are ignoring that Glasgow fans don't want mid week racing, they want Friday nights. We also get a healthy crowd of kids as it's a non school night (yes there was a poll before any fixed race nights and Friday nights were top by a distance hence the Facennas fighting to get Friday night racing). 

You would also lose all of the local(ish) rivalries that bump up crowd levels for those fixtures. Glasgow v Edinburgh is an easy sell to people in either city in anything. Glasgow v Ipswich? Meh, not so much. And way less Ipswich fans would travel up midweek than Edinburgh fans on a Friday

Yes, I'm picking on Ipswich (as it is some of their fans that seem desperate to ruin Glasgow speedway) but to be honest if Glasgow ran in the Premiership in 2026 there would have been no 'stand out' fixture in the calendar, none that you circle at the start of the year saying I must make sure to see that one. No derby and no rivalry.

Having seen the odd international match, GP qualifiers etc there is nothing that we're missing out on in terms of racing quality either. 

As for not seeing Leon Flint or Dan T in the Championship, I think I might be seeing them a fair bit next year, but we'll see what happens over the silly season.

Glasgow and Edinburgh fans generally do care about our "tin pot" derby. Both promotions care, especially as it brings in larger numbers of away fans, and amongst their biggest crowds of the season.

If no one else cares about the Scottish derby matches, or any other derby matches, that's absolutely fine. No one else needs to care about it/them, but it does make a difference to both Scottish clubs.

Might this see young Polish riders coming to ride in the Premiership next year to aid their development. Older supporters may remember an influx of young Swedes in 1967 with Michanek, Harryson and Holmquist all coming over

A week before this season started. He said that he spoke to Chris Holder and Chris said if Poole ever move back up him and Jack will be there. Whether that has changed since March idk. 

Edit - it was on a radio interview.

I see. So neither of the Holders have said it publicly then ? Just promoter waffle telling the fans what they want to hear. 😉

Oxford stepping up again? There's no way they will run in three leagues again, but could drop the Championship perhaps? Especially if the Championship is going to be a diluted product. 

Peter Shroeck has been very vocal about starting to build a team early for 2027...and they only time he's ever mentioned problems with team building before was having limited time to build a Spires team in 2024. Then again, it's Peter Shroeck so I'm not sure reading him is any easier than Dostoevsky.

As far as I know, the financial troubles started and ended with Boothby. The speedway itself was always solvent, only impacted by Boothby taking many out of the club. He's no longer involved, with Courtney, Austin and Timmo now at the helm. The speedway side of the business makes money, attracts good crowds and could afford it.... the big IF is how much is now being paid to the stadium owners to be able to operate (without the greyhounds to pay a cut).

The Oxford Stadium website seems to suggest positive movements though, posting about a 'new era'... https://oxford-stadium.co.uk/

As far as I read last week, it is still Poland plus ONE other. If there has been a change to that it has not been made official.

There was a release last week from Sweden outlining a new deal with Poland allowing Poland, Sweden and one other

The UK and Denmark didn't reach any additional agreement

Artur Rusko and Richard Coleman have been busy the last few days putting the bulk of an Ipswich team together for next year , so you’d think things have already been loosely agreed for the League next year behind the scenes.

Going to be an interesting few weeks ahead.
