Removing guests won't add anything in improving the product, adding sponsorship and spectators through the turnstiles. They are just covering their bases and pointing out how 'tin pot' the rules are so that they can undermine our title win if we are succesful. The "optics" of what you do nowadays are often the maker, or the breaker, of your success in business.. And Social Media feedback from sometimes millions of people, has replaced half a dozen blokes in the back of a "tap room" moaning about life to each other, whilst another half dozen moaned about exactly the same thing in thousands of other pubs... Now so many have "a voice", which can be great for any business if you are open enough to listen to it.. The bottom line is if you launched Speedway this Monday as a brand new team sport, (using its current operating model), and did it with a huge fanfare and press launch, within an hour the operating model would be slaughtered in the public domain, and ridiculed mercilessly.. And a team sport, which relies 100% on tribal emotional attachment, would fail from the off... Without a credible offering, a business has no chance nowadays, and, in business, not evolving your operating model for over 50 years is simply never going to make you a success in the modern world.. I have no details, but I do think that Mayfield's involvement will result in the top tier becoming something that does have a credible offering.. The wider issue is when teams are full of borrowed riders rather than R/R and riders unattached in the Prem. Also I'm intrigued why Sheffield would be offering a bonus when they've openly said they have struggled with crowds and finances this season? It's the Bates paying so I suspect you are in cloud cuckoo land regarding any extra bonus. Drew Kemp impressed me most of the visitors last night. Battled hard for his points and was unlucky when he lost out on the line for a win in one race, but it was to a great pass so nothing to be ashamed of. He may have just got a new engine but he did look very fast, Sam Masters looked fast earlier in the meeting but nowhere near Max when they met. Yes probably you are correct, pure speculation on my part. Bates may not pay an extra bonus but more points mean more money and I expect Max doesnt come cheap. I cannot for the life of me see a rider wanting to have inferior equipment anywhere if they can avoid it as they want to be successful everywhere. Of course different engines have different characteristics to suit the conditions and no one can deny the tracks are generally very different.
