I thought the one over 8 rider per team was to balance out the heat leaders. If Berwick wants to leave Nick at 5 then they should be able to do that (not gaining any advantage as other teams could do the same). Berwick are starting the season with no riders with an average over 8.

Cos they've signed 5 riders already, none of them over 8. Only got just over 8 points left, I think, for 2 riders so unless it's going to be 6 man teams it won't fit with an over 8 point rider. Been the rule for a long time that highest averaged rider has to ride at number 1 and lowest two at 6 and 7, if Berwick have built there team more solid throughout then that’s their decision. After last year, I think Oxford would take that. That made a huge difference to the Glasgow season. I don't see where Oxford will get a rider like that (song 2.5 to their average), and I think that they have went too big on the top 3. Pre Nagel, Glasgow struggled for heat advantages that year and relied on winning a lot of last heat deciders. From memory the super heat in the playoff final (the one that really mattered) was the only one that went against the Tigers. Masters, Brennan and Howarth will struggle to increase their averages, Kileen might struggle to improve his as his partner will regularly beat him. Lot of pressure on the bottom 3 to be picking up 3rd places and they will often be facing opposite numbers with much higher averages. If it all clicks though they could win silverware. Looking forward to them coming to Ashfield next year, that match already looks like one to watch Masters and Brennan should improve their aves imo

That is not correct, highest at 1 yes, then the 2 lowest at reserve. The rest is down to the team manager. 1

So any teams current plans can be blown out of the water by promoters spitting their dummies out.

He obviously believes what he is doing with both lots of team building is correct.

As he promotes 2 clubs then yes. He might not actually cast the vote for each but effectively they will vote the same. I suspect that other clubs are just as far on with their team building but just haven't went public yet

Seem to recall Berwick signing Jake Allen on a 5 point average, Aussie's were then reassessed to 7 points for that season only so Berwick didn't sign him. It does appear to happen that the rules are changed to suit certain teams

Only Steve Dews and Sarah Bulman are listed as promoters. Jamie is the Owner.

The 'subject to approval' has always been there just in case any promoter used the wrong average for a particular rider OR got their team total wrong by 0.01 of a point!?😇
