How do you keep getting away with abusing people??

I can see where you're coming from, and I would have happily got behind the team Ged put together. However, after Buster cannibalised it to prop up his other clubs, I lost interest. It is clear that he has no ambition for the club other than to make up the numbers, and if he doesn't care, why should I?

It's not risky for normal people to start threads,,, only the strange ones.

Ah... I am afraid that when I said "us all" I meant those in attendance on Thursday who saw some really entertaining action, heart stopping moments, and really a night of close racing, elbowsm, track craft and throttle control, all on a level playing field for each rider. From my perspective, I (Martin and I) will continue to work with NICE on this project and will attend a washup meeting with them soon along with discussions on what comes next. I see this as being format as a great opportunity for the sport and while there is much work to be done, in my view it has the potential longevity and that warrants further exploration in a controlled way. Furthermore, these next stage experiments must have some kind of control and reference points so that a comparison can be made. This means it cannot be simple as to put an entire league on the engines.. but I do have ideas that I will be discussing with NICE over the coming weeks about how we can take it further and then present that final idea to the higher authority. However, as a standalone event we will be doing it again for sure and at least once.......

It needs to be one big league. It should have happened this year but it didn`t ! British speedway needs to be run on days that are best for each particular track and not to suit Poland. We need to get back to the British League era. Its a fallacy that we need the big names we don`t ! we need good racing. The big names are riding in Sweden and I`ve watched a few on telly and the racing is no better than we have here...Let the so called big names ride in Poland if they want to but I think you will find a lot of them will eventually come back home with their tail between their legs when they`re dropped in a squad system...

If Doyle can ride on Thursday then why should Ipswich have a guest?

Should be two UK under 21 riders at reserve in the top tier from next season onwards . The draft system before was a great little system.

No, in truth, eight points is not a fair reflection, on Jordan Stewarts potential score. He has been well in double figures in all his recent home meetings, regularly outscoring Charles and MPT. The other rider, (non national league standard allegedly) , had never ridden Redcar before. In contradiction, to the Scunthorpe team managers, version of events in the BSPA site, (where Scunthorpe won with all the odds against them). The Scunthorpe team, had infinitely more experience of the Redcar track, than some of the home team. It is the fairest track in the league and some of the Scunthorpe riders, perform as well there, if not better than at Scunthorpe. I congratulate Scunthorpe on their victory, but lets not make it out to be an overwhelming performance.

Really!! In what seemed no time after the takeover we saw a perfectly adequate management team dismantled . Rosco moved out and Colin Pratt pushed sideways. Then we had Colin's service dispensed with as team manager to be replaced by a series of " ragamuffin type characters" called team managers in his place , none of whom appeared to have a clue what Coventry Speedway represented. During all of this time we were getting messages from Mr Horton about making up our minds whether we wanted top class speedway at Brandon, and his guarded threats about running at a lower level. While all of this was going on he was attending BSPA meetings complaining he couldn't afford to run. I wouldn't call that well a run club , and I won't even get involved with your comment about still being there had the stadium been available.

For what its worth I enjoyed Saturday`s meeting as IMO I got value for money and that's all I ask for, I look forward to more of the same this week hopefully. Decent racing and a surprise home win.

And continued to be, and still would be if we had a stadium to race in You couldn’t be further from the truth on my part

Deja vu at its height. What you and your pal inherited at Coventry was a top class club, which had been very well run for many many years, and look how that finished up. Also, on reflection, you and Mr Horton didn't make Colin Pratt feel too welcome after you moved in to Brandon either.

Would like to say a big well done to Diamonds. Won fair and square over 2 legs. After Friday thought we were a few points short and so it was. Josh a fantastic shift from you tonight. Mamma Mia, SOS what has happened to the Swedes, not Napoleon that surrendered they did. Sad to see Ricky struggling, hope he can turn it around. best wishes to George n the Diamonds for the final.Would like to see them or Redcar win it.

That would be a rash choice IMO

Just hope our riders come home safe .Poole is a hell hole and the track a death trap.

For the majority of the kids even the CL is a jump too far and having a 2 point rider will mean teams are basically 6 a side. They get the sack and disillusionment sets in so there must be a lower league standard for them to learn and progress. These young riders shouldn’t be used just so teams can build a better top heavy team and the bspa have a duty of care to see to it.

The problem that the MSDL faces on a daily basis is the snobby attitude that commentators like you hold against it. Just because the league is of a lower standard does it mean it has to be treated as an inferior or less valid product? Only recently there was unfair criticism levied against the NL and the support for it was over whelming. Many many riders compete in the development leagues and have progressed through to full time team places to great acclaim, however the league faces opposition at every turn (clubs, promotions, BSPA) the very same people who moan that the future of the sport is in jeopardy.

having been the Pit Marshall at Plymouth many many moons ago this bunch that are very vocal about their speedway are still going strong and being very vocal.. they have been this way since day one why change them now. I remember having strong words with them over the track fence for their shouting and their choice of words. I will say the promoter shouldn't be heckled in any way i am sure Mark is doing all he can to provide the paying public a place to watch a sport they all love and in no way should he be held to ransom. He also has to make sure anyone else coming to the track enjoys their time and doesn't come to the track see's what is going on and thinks i wont go again so wanting to portray a family fun night of sport etc.. a permanent ban is a touch strong as these guys have been there since day one but a learning lesson maybe should have been employed for the betterment of anyone new visiting and giving the best impression of the club and sport. basically what i am getting at is the promotion are trying to get new people into the club as no club can support itself on a small number of regulars and this kind of vocal behaviour isnt always wanted or needed for the future of Plymouth Speedway lets face it if he shut the doors tomorrow where will they get their fix then if they are reading understand things from both sides of the fence and although your point may be valid and have a place in a discussion there are ways and means of getting your point across and usually they are to go and meet with the promoters and voice them now. I know Mattie Bates will welcome a discussion as will Mark Phillips but doing things the wrong way will always get a sharp reaction and this is what they have got.

Have we ever heard from him? Bearing in mind that I never buy a programme.

Great meeting, but thought we might have blown it in ht12. Was there not a case for Heeps to go off 15mts in ht 6 after Coles had failed to clear the track ??? One of three 5-1 that turned out to be 3-3's, can't it away from Edinburgh for effort tho, or Paul Starke for his good contribution too.

Unfortunate on Clouting who’s now lumbered with an over 3pt average and unable to guest at reserve.

No!, run it as agreed at the start of the season. This Sunday at Kings Lynn. Good luck to all the youngsters..

Do you not think the clubs that have already held them didn’t lose money on it then?. What a total lack of interest in British speedway the owners of Poole have shown. How you can even defend this is beyond me as it’s one of the very reasons the sport is on its knees.
