Why you need two "promoters" is of couse another good question - it's another wage to pay, as well as those for the 2 directors Ian Jordan and Les Fineing Lee is a welcome part of the Eastbourne management team and he has worked tirelessly for Eastbourne. You can obviously question a few things about Eastbourne this season but not the role Lee has done for the club, keep your powder dry on this one...

The aftermath was very difficult to unravel apparently and obviously stopped the club in its tracks. At Eastbourne, it is slightly different as the club is not owned by the Promoters but by the two named directors who the BSPL have no control over as they are not BSPL approved promotors.

Whilst this doesn't come as a surprise, it would be nice if Eastbourne actually communicated this rather than just surreptitiously removing the fixtures from the fixture list. Ian Jordan likes to go on about openness and transparency but there hasn't been much of either in the last couple of weeks.

To be fair the communication between the majority of clubs and its supporters is rotten to put it mildly. But in the situation Eastbourne finds itself in you would think more effort should be made to keep their fans updated on fixtures etc.
00000 1,279 Posted August 22, 2021 May well have been the northern clubs who swiftly moved fixtures, rather than Eagles pulling out

old bob at herne bay 828 Posted August 22, 2021 Great Central, Thank you for that info re the ownership of the club. I can see in this instance the two promoters have a far trickier role in the running of the club, holding the BSPL approved promoters licence and employed by the Eastbourne Speedway Ltd. Company. solrac 313 Posted August 22, 2021 They are due to announce more on Tuesday so hopefully much more clarity after that. They can hardly announce too much more regarding fixtures until then.

What if they announce everything is fine and they are continuing, what was the point in postponing the fixtures before the announcement?
Normski 1,315 Posted August 22, 2021 This is to allow the Eagles the time they need to sort out the advertised issues that are ongoing at the club at the present time. This is on the Newcastle website i think Edinburgh had something similar on theirs

Yes it does seem quite tricky for them and I feel for them both right now as they would appear to be in a very difficult position. old bob at herne bay 828 Posted August 22, 2021 "cityrebel" well, as you asked the question, yes it is possible ...... maybe more then 2 riders haven't been paid ? (allegedly it is only Kennett and Lawson) maybe the stadium owners have refused them permission to race on the track ?. (allegedly owed back rent) tbh the longer this drags on, the more I fear that this might be the end of the Jordan/Fineing/Kilby/Gear era of Eastbourne Speedway Limited. Both Birmingham and Newcastle are clearly struggling this season, but both appear to have access to a track and a team of 7 riders who are willing to race for them in any of the 15 heats.
