  5. come on lads stop being British speedway haters from this year the only way is up .
  6. Who are these riders who are going to miss out ?
  7. Today
  8. Hoped they were going to be nicknamed Buxton Bullsh*tters with Laurence Rodgers at the helm
  9. Liked it when you moved from Ellesmere Port to Boston. Great times
  10. Experience means nothing when a rider like Lambert is on a downward slide.
  11. Fabulous couple of days at the show, made a couple of pennies and hopefully along Jan staechmann, Aiden and Les Collins Buxton, belle vue and Workington and their stands all got speedway out there. Where were the bspl ? Where were speedway futures ? Where were all the other teams, it’s FREE for clubs to have a stand to 1000s of folks, I despair at this sport at times
  12. Well after much grovelling on my knees to the Buxton promotion today I finally have a position at the club, I’m going to be the mascot, hello MR Bull S**t 😂
  13. JA? You must be Joshing, It's Jon Armstrong. Heard he's having a race-off against Tony Atkin and Gary O'Hare to see who gets the last Buxton spot.
  14. Just 'friend' him on social media. He's keeping as fit as possible and is currently having 'electro-pulse(?)' treatment on his shoulder. Hoping to be ready for April.
  15. My lad gets paid for playing football on Saturdays and on Sundays... Semi pro level on the Saturday and normal Sunday League stuff the next day... The bloke who owns the Semi Pro team runs a Sunday team and pays a few of the lads to play.. There are a couple of other teams on the Sunday who also pay players, with the three teams easily better than the rest... UK Speedway, for me, has a similar vibe to it... Many benefactors who are quite happy running it as a hobby they can afford, and, with no real kudos, publicity, or financial rewards for winning, meaning, its more of an enjoyable labour of love, rather than a bona fide sporting occasion that they present... And, given the lack of authenticity as a team sport that Speedway in the UK has, you can see why many are quite happy to never change things...
  16. I would think they have contacted a possible replacement and have a plan in place.
  17. Has anyone come across any update info on Fraser Bowes? How serious was the break/injury, is he likely to be fit for the start of the season?
  18. A team sport with relevance would involve promotion and relegation in my humble opinion. Meeting’s with jeopardy in them. And teams not dictating to the sport what league they will and won’t ride in. It’s all so amateurish really. Professional in name only. For now.
  19. New Era, New Club Captain -> Tom Brennan Stayed loyal to Ipswich during this incredibly frustrating winter, Got a good head on his shoulders who's well spoken. Tom could easily be a Witches rider for a good few years imo. That's what I would do anyway.
  20. Would suggest that Lambert would be better option than Starke.IMO
  21. Years ago a lot of the various owners used to run speedway as a tax loss/dodge for their main business, probably similar now, but it's more regulated, so a bit harder to do, unless you have a good accountant 🙃
  22. That's what a few clubs have thought in the past few years, for a rider who has years of experience, starting on a low average, should increase that, but for some reason or another, he is still on a low 4 point average
