  1. Past hour
  2. Surely the biggest hurdle is having X (3 I think?) domestic riders in their teams? Maybe Huckenbeck and Blodorn could make Landshut competitive, in 2. Ekstraliga, but Daugavpils would struggle.
  3. Absolutely right, all new start-ups should be lower league unless they have a significant post of cash. Buster & King's Lynn needs and encourages as many bad teams as possible in the top league so they can be comfortable in neither challenging top 4 or bottom 2.
  4. Much prefer Sandbanks beach and the occasional trip to Brownsea Island.
  5. Yeah that’s correct he is 2.60 with 2.5% reduction. But don’t believe he’ll be riding speedway next season
  6. I think the (strong) rumours of a reduced limit were linked to having a different number of teams in Championship! The 40 point limit was initially set and agreed for 3 seasons, based on 9 teams.
  7. Not suggesting the track shouldn't re-open, merely that they should start in Championship on a race day of their choice.
  8. Can't see wading the heavy mud of the Humber is currently high on his bucket list
  9. Luckily there are proactive people trying reopen tracks, grow the sport and get it back on telly to counteract negative Nigels like yourself.
  10. They'd be better off not opening in the Premiership at all!!9
  11. Many seem to forget that it's British Speedway Promoters Limited (not Association anymore)! I'm not aware of any other Limited company that shares news about its next year operations with its customers before its AGM.
  12. Today
  13. The AGM used to be where many of the following seasons' rules and regs were actually put together.. "Like a bear pit" was one description from an old promoter.. With horse trading going on to get your wish list through, as you might have lined up a great team if the team average selected could only match it... And the AGM was several days to accommodate the agenda... Now much of the work is done throughout the season and the AGM mirrors what an AGM should be, ie a signing off of the previous year, and an inform session to shareholders as to the vision for the next twelve months and beyond... Not an operating model planning session... "Why don't they then put out info to the public as and when things like points limits are agreed through the season?".. I suppose it would be down to how Speedway in the UK is in somewhat of a "parlous state" where teams can, almost in an instant, pull out of the sport, or need to change leagues to keep operating, or even new teams coming in, hence averages would change too. The U21 ruling will no doubt have impacted an already agreed figure for example... Dan T's vlogs mentioned several times that there were "plans for next season" without going into detail, which shows that the planning process is pretty much ongoing and the AGM is nothing more than a communication of them... A much more professional looking set up than it used to be... Making several fundamental major changes for the following March, in November, certainly didn't used to give that professional impression...
  14. Where’s the long term planning. A five year plan to develop/build/improve facilities, both current and defunct tracks coupled with a sustained rider development process at junior and senior level and an ongoing improvement to the race night experience. Imagine if all tracks had implemented that 15 years ago instead of just wasting TV money and sticking their heads in the sand.
  15. 1 Douglas 9.08 2 Howarth 4.63 3 Masters 5.96 4 D Thompson 5.99 5 Fricke 8.24 6 Rasmus Karlsson 4.00 assessed 7 Hodder RS Total - 37.90
  16. Thanks I took his figure of 2.67 from the BSPL website which only ran to Sept 19.
  17. I thought he had all but given up this season but worky tempted him back. And he has said again that he has fallen out of love with speedway. I don’t expect to see him return next season.
  18. I think keeping Douglas is a must and hope fully get Fricke back. I’d then build the best possible team around that pair within whatever the points limit is.
  19. Are you from Rye House? Wasn't it them that broke the British rider rule in the old '2nd Division' (can't remember actual name). NO, NO, NO.
  20. They'd be better off not opening with a team like that.
  21. 2.52 with British reduction but did he not say lately that he’d lost interest in speedway?
  22. At low tide he can walk over to Read's Island over the mud.😁
  23. It's hard to guess what the team will look like without an idea of the points limit. Personally get Fricke back and build the side around him. I personally would be fine with keeping the Thompson twins. I'm 50/50 on Morris and Masters. I think they will stay as they should improve slightly on their current average. Douglas I think will stay but his average is high now and I can't see him improving on it at all. Kemp can go for me.
  24. I'll try and help them then, because I genuinely believe that that this is what they were saying, in a clumsy way. :- Having reviewed the incident against the written rule, it is acknowledged that a level of ambiguity in the wording allowed a definition of the inner edge of the track, to be the outer edge of the track marking, which was breached. It is confirmed that crossing the inner edge of the track marking is the point of exclusion and without sufficient evidence to prove this was breached, we uphold the referees decision. The wording of the rule has been amended in line with the FIM regulations to confirm it's original intent.
  25. Am I the only one that used to look forward to the AGM to find out all the important stuff for the next season? It was the deadline for teams to declare they were running (Plymouth) it was when the points limit was set and any significant rule changes were announced. It has become clear in recent years that the points limits, at least, have been decided in advance of the AGM. Teams have increasingly announced rider signings ahead of the AGM. Even whole teams have been announced. "Subject to approval" of course. Now we have an official announcement stating, "The meeting, which acts as the formal conclusion of business for the current year" whatever that means followed by further clarification, "The AGM itself does not directly determine the structure of the sport for the following season as discussions regarding 2027 and beyond have been taking place for some time". So the process of control of our sport becomes further clouded in mystery. The lack of transparency is astounding. Well it would be if it hadn't been going on this way, increasingly, over a very long period of time.
