  1. Past hour
  2. FYI Workington didn't require a crowd of 1500 in 2018. But unfortunately until the last few trophy winning meetings crowds weren't anywhere near break even . Hopefully now we are at the GT tyres Northside arena all money spent ( food, drink, car park etc ) goes to keeping the speedway alive
  3. Things can start small and unfortunately grow into bigger issues at times šŸ¤”
  4. Russian bot farms helping the demise of Speedway in the UK... and they're doing a cracking job! Under the command of Rob Godfrov!
  5. If we can get all the riders to turn up it should be a good tussle over the 2 legs šŸ‘šŸ»
  6. The Steve Casey Memorial Meeting at Buxton 3 July at 23:59 Ā· The Boys will be out on track 23/08/26 drifting their beast of a car! Remember it is only a few weeks after that they begin the epic journey to Nice! Come and give them a rousing send off ready for THE NICE RUN OUT!!!!
  7. Nah I’d like to win that one Iain! Not looking likely at the minute though šŸ˜‚
  8. There must be a concern about Lawson, because he missed a Danish match recently citing illness. If he has an illness, perhaps it's finally caught up with him? Otherwise, there could be something else outside the sport causing an issue ...
  9. Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund Ā· Follow 3 July at 20:11 Ā· Join us at Buxton Speedway for the Steve Casey KC81 Memorial Meeting on Sunday 23 August 2026. The Ben Fund are thrilled to be receiving the proceeds from this memorial meeting. Steve was a fantastic supporter of the charity over the years in many ways, and a few years before his sad passing he also produced a wonderful poster of Ivan Mauger. This special event honours Steve’s memory, with all proceeds going to support the vital work of the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund. Tapes up at 3pm Buxton Raceway, Dale Head Lane, Axe Edge, Buxton, Derbyshire, SK17 0RR Tickets available: https://www.trybooking.com/uk/events/landing/117262 Email: stevecaseymemorialmeeting@hotmail.com Follow on Facebook: Steve Casey Memorial Meeting Your support makes a real difference in helping riders and their families when they need it most. We hope to see you there.
  10. They don’t strike me as the kind of owners/management that will make changes easily. Bangs was probably an extreme case and you get the impression they didn’t really wanna drop him either. They seem to like/want to back their riders as long as possible which although could become irritating to supporters in the long term especially if certain riders aren’t performing, it’s difficult to criticise.
  11. I feel the same. I’ve already mentally checked out of this season. Even if we finish fourth we ain’t gonna win it so Lynn can have it if they want 😁
  12. Why is he suspended? It was speedway related accident and he has a rib injury?
  13. Today
  14. Only exists for bonus points I believe.
  15. I think there are less financial penalties( if any) for missing GP'S than league matches ,if he aggravated his injury in the GP he may well be unpopular to say the least with his league teams .
  16. Has the super heat now been dropped? Don't remember reading about it.
  17. Challenge final in Terenzano on Saturday 25th July starts at 7pm UK time and is available to watch on PPV for a bargain price of 9.90 Euros on FIM MOTO TV. https://fim-moto.tv/sgp_challenge
  18. So did 1200 Belle Vue fans. Crowds are never as big for televised league meetings. Workington needed 1500 fans like you when they closed in 2018 but unfortunately not all fans are diehards like us and will find cheaper ways to enjoy the sport.
  19. Win Thursday or lose Thursday,, does it really matter,, nah
  20. Serious actions for Ipswich management is required. They pulled the trigger on Pedersen for PHB, so it shows they aren’t afraid to make decision. I personally feel Scotty and Lawson need to go. Don’t know if either of these can come in but Ellis and Rew would fit the witches and start to feel like we have our team back. This season is awful and feels like a bunch of individuals. After last season, and yes I know a lot of crap went on in the winter, but we lost our team. Keep king, Brennan, Edwards, and I like pedersen and certainly Tobi. But now Lawson has to be removed from this team. Scotty has been there for us throughout so this isn’t a dig at him but even he knows he cant be competitive away from Foxhall which is sad but a reality. This isn’t a retirement fund club, you want people on seats, sort this team out or risk losing more fans.
  21. Digital media in UK speedway is stuck in the year 2000
  22. I'm sure I read somewhere at some point that Torun have a fixture but can't provide a link as I can't remember šŸ‘Ž
  23. As a positive, its great to see the likes of Zagar, Harris and Iversen still scoring points. I remember seeing them riding for Trelawny and Newport at Trelawny in 2003 , crazy to think 23 years on they would still be putting in respectable scores in the British top division.
  24. Social media is where its at now for advertising online. I can't remember the last time I bothered to go to a clubs website. I watch every ManU game on TV and haven't been on the website since before I left the UK. Same as with speedway, you see all results on social media. Club websites have been rubbish on the whole since the internet has been around but having a quick glance now, its a wonder they even bother with them. Not just info wise but the design and lay out is just horrendous. Just don't bother.
