  1. Past hour
  2. Speedway was profitable back then. Nowadays we fly in a load of riders from abroad
  3. It's normally much drier in Sept & Oct when the meetings will be run, silly trying to do that in late spring & summer..... In other news, recently watched the British Final from 84, run on a very wet Coventry with KC and his broken leg. So if we used to get meetings on in the wet before but don't bother now, what's the preference? For me, it's the former, with regular meetings on and postponements a rarity. I'm in the 1 point each and not re-run them camp to focus minds.
  4. Well.... Plenty on here moan about missing regular Speedway (like in the Good Old Days)... So. Pretty soon they will have Monday, Thursday, Monday, Thursday, Monday, Thursday, Monday, Thursday, at home every week for a whole month...😁
  5. Do you have an emergency supply of those Mondays and Thursdays you mentioned 😆
  6. Exactly. Fuel isn't the only cost: "Driving a petrol car in the UK costs roughly 15p to 20p per mile for fuel alone, depending on your vehicle's efficiency. However, the total running cost (including tax, maintenance, insurance, and depreciation) averages about 49p per mile. "
  7. Maybe a wee glitch in the BSP log? If -- and l don't think he is -- Mitch Cluff were to be unavailable, it's a fair bet the Monarchs wouldn't be picking Morgan as their guest. Anyway, have a good match. Winners going through to meet Berwick in the Final, eh?
  8. Confirmed teams and live updates Grindsted v Fjelsted https://rs.dmusport.dk/loeb/7457 Holsted v Slangerup https://rs.dmusport.dk/loeb/7458 Vojens v Brovst https://rs.dmusport.dk/loeb/7460 Region Varde v Esbjerg https://rs.dmusport.dk/loeb/7459
  9. Today
  10. The 49p per mile probably includes a very small percentage of Tax, Insurance and maintenance on top of just fuel costs.
  11. Massive weekend ahead possibly for the Gladiators as they push for a historic place in the KO Cup Final. Would be a fantastic reward for Mark Phillips, Barry Bishop, Garry May and every associated with Plymouth Speedway who are working hard to buck the trend of Speedway in this country. The buzz around home meetings now is great to see. Two good sides, this will be a cracking two-legged tie. Looking forward to covering this on Gladiators TV
  12. Bloody Buster again.. That man has a lot to answer for Oh, it's not him...Err Oh well, he must have something to do with it.... Surely On a serious note. I don't think most clubs can afford a rain off once all the riders have travelled any more. Even worse if a meeting gets abandoned after a few heats. Travel, points money/ guarentee, track rent for most.

  15. Must be measured using a Ferrari 🤣 For me, a full tank costs £75. That goes 500 miles. Return trip is exactly 200 miles - £30. £10 cheaper, door to door, I'm the DJ, and it's much quicker.
  16. Agree about the fanzone , riders merchandise would have sold well I heard last year the organisers wanted £2k up front for riders to have merchandise stall …. More food outlets in the zone would he been ideal … all red tape I am going to get a T Shirt printed saying “ I was there Manchester 2026” 😃😃
  17. Is it though? Average per mile cost to run a car, according to Google, is 49p per mile, so for a 200 mile round trip, that's just shy of £100. How much was the coach?
  18. +Streaming is available which is an even cheaper option.Im quite sure the usual diehards will be there enjoying themselves and are very welcome.👍
