  3. The club a rider signs for first gets priority in my opinion, not a club in Poland Denmark or Timbuktu after, We all want whats best for a rider but you cant have clubs saying hes ours now he rides when we tell him.. But i quess theres soo many loopholes its hard to say who he signed for first...do you go by,, hes rode for us for 5 yrs or at the beginning of each season?maybe why riders say in May June they are pleased to say they have signed for another season in Poland? I think Pickering signed for us as he wasnt in a team abroad but got picked as he looked a promise,Scunny should get priority unless its a rearranged match but of his team decides they are racing on friday and he goes abroad he should be banned here for a week...but Poland would ban him for the season if he didnt go
  4. Doyle and Fricke aren't yet replaced. Excluding Holder, who will continue to slip down the order, Fricke is currently 7th in standings, and two points off 5th place. Doyley faces a tougher situation being 12 points off 7th place. With 4 GP's to go quite a bit can change below the top 3/4 who have a buffer over the rest. Who has been replaced at this stage, and will remain replaced, is Parnitski and Kubera. I take your earlier point about the Aussie Quals being tricky, it must be a right pain in the proverbial for the better riders to have to come back here, bring motors/bikes for a one week ordeal involving 4 meetings spread over thousands of miles. Great for fans but very tough on riders and no doubt an expensive exercise, and at the present stage, there are 10 Aussies good enough on our tracks to be viable chances for one of the too few 3 or 4 allocations. As a number of us have commented on in this thread, the qualifying system has a number of flaws in it and does not assure that we wind up with the best 15/16 riders in the world. Its more of a junket for 2nd and 3rd tier riders than a serious attempt to discern the genuine top echelon of riders. There are more intelligent options, some of which have been bounced around in this thread, but unfortunately, intelligence doesn't seem to be a feature in the decisions of FIM and organizational levels of speedway.
  5. No, i meant no one forced him to sign for a Danish club. Also Lawson has another job outside speedway as well. I doubt he is hard up for cash but that is just my opinion on past interviews. End of the day he should be banned as he is 'withholding his services.'
  6. would that be a 10+2 in beating the Stars 😉 Lets be honest a lot won't have expected his scores of late for thew Foxes!
  7. agreed but - I am due to attend the next two fixtures at Foxhall 6th and 20th Aug the opponents are the Foxes who I have already seen lose 43-47 earlier this season and Leicester who i have seen win and draw tonight! I fully intend to go and enjoy the meetings but that means In 5 fixtures in 2026 I will have only seen 2 of the 5 other sides in the Premiership this season!
  8. I think that judgment is harsh, this is a person's livelihood (with a new family to support)as well as a sport. Can you really expect riders to simply ride for your entertainment? If the Fords had wanted/ valued it Lawson's obliged absences could have been AVOIDED, the promoters have basically not been the shrewd operators that they imagine they are. Their decisions have determined who rides on Wednesday, not Lawson. So yes he was forced into it!
  9. Im sorry but no. If you dont want any clashes then dont sign for 2 leagues that ride on the same night. He wasnt forced into it!
  10. I had forgotten about that - it was nasty one so maybe that's a factor - I hope he gets back to where i think we all know he can be. Cracking fella - he was trying - i don't think the track helped insofar as it wasn't easy to work lines to pass - but some did - in fact I have Tom making a 4th to 3rd spot move in heat 10 past Kyle Howarth. He tried hard in heat 13 but just couldn't get close enough to Masters.
  11. Agree, also there should be no guests allowed for riders away riding abroad except FIM meetings. The might taken the Promoters up when rearranging meetings.
  12. The Leicester performance tonight doesn't make great reading Kemp 15/6 Masters 6/5 from a Poole point of view. Re: the absence of Lawson on Wednesday if you want somebody to blame why not the person/people who decided to cancel the Berwick KO heat cos it coincided with a football match (balancing the cost of running a poorly attended KO heat against potentially a well supported final) and of course the person/people who decided to swop the scheduled league heat with the KO heat. (That was the real clanger). These decisions directly resulted the Richard being contractualy obliged to ride for the Danish team on both occasions. Lawson is just trying to make riding speedway fit his life, he's done nothing wrong he's just doing what he has signed up to. The Fords on the other are making executive decisions that determine who actually rides for Poole on the night.
  13. He also had a very serious injury when in the USA in the close season... Maybe the NSS being so wide and safe suits him more currently...?? He will certainly be someone to get next season on whatever his average ends up as..
  14. Depending on what Poland decide... For the Championship, it could be next season... You would think the top tier are pushing for eight teams, to sell to TV, and also ensuring a fair shareout of any top talent that decide to ride over here to encourage two teams to move up.. With fixed race nights not being needed anymore to accommodate the DUers, meaning the likes of Poole and Glasgow for example, could keep their key race nights and move up... Maybe adhoc Friday or Saturdays as required for Glasgow depending on Polish commitments of any of the 14 riders?.. The Championship without the many HL's who ride in Poland could be a very different landscape... And, if the top tier get a TV deal, they can offer the current shared riders more of a guarantee...
  15. Was that 10 from 7 rides at reserve🙂
  16. I find it so weird. He was as good as I have ever seen him ride @NSS when he guested for Kurtz then turned up for Witches. Losing his spot at Bydgoszcz has crippled his confidence.
  17. 10 +2 for Northampton tonight good old batch proves the doubters wrong again 😄
  18. When you watch Ben Cook in Poland last night you have to question his efforts tonight.Just topping up the pocket money.IMO

  20. At at some point there must be a tipping point where we quite literally run out of participants or in this case riders.
  21. Just checking everything is ok with you as you mention me in every post it’s a bit of an obsession and I’m making sure the nurses have given you your medication I’m just glad we have speedway at Foxhall and no I’ve not attended much this season as the team lacks excitement … the track is worse than ever and the presentation is appalling …. Sadly I don’t actually miss it and I’m sure there are lots of supporters not just of Ipswich but many other clubs who are finding the season as a whole a bit boring … the Sheffield fans I spoke to said the same
  22. Bus 201 & 202 (I think) Still a reliable service after the meeting. [And free for us ancients]
  23. You would end up with the NDL racing you describe.. If (when), Poland bring in their "Poland plus one league" stipulation then many who double up now won't be able to, even if they choose the UK over Sweden and Denmark as their "other league".. I can see Poole going tier one on Wednesdays next season given the standard of teams the Championship may end up with without the HL's who double up and have Polish contracts..
  24. Well done Foxes pleased for you! Possibly lost the BP with Iversen pushing the tapes in heat 15? Viz a Viz previous discussions who do they drop now!!
  25. Good scores for Batch and Drew tonight in the Premiership
  26. I didn't say the 'majority' I said many. Season ticket holders, sponsors, those that bought online, they all still have to queue.
