  1. Past hour
  2. Some riders were weary at the start granted, the heat times were fast, and the track improved as the evening went on. Edinburgh were pitiful end of! A long drive home for the Monarchs team.
  3. Today
  4. Not in its current form, but then we've all known that for at least the last 7 or 8 years.
  5. Not a great meeting, there was some passing but Edinburgh were very poor and uninterested in competing much, the track was not that bad considering the weather but only one side seemed to want to attack it.
  6. With the lack of action this season due to three weeks between home meetings and postponements at the drop of a hat even the die hards will find other interests going to be some woeful crowds i think, especially with the world cup about to start. This season the sport has hit rock bottom, can it survive?
  7. I think generally those who don't race in the UK struggled on Friday & Saturday.
  8. Not so much a poor Monarchs side, more about a pitiful performance Vs a very strong Poole team. Kerr is really stepping up this season, remember all his critics last year? Lawson really coming back on song, Zac fast as ever, Kyle doing a great job, the turbo twins doing what they do, and Fraser putting his all into the job while coming back from injuries plus a bit of a mechanical, What's to criticise?
  9. What was wrong with your track ?? Did someone spill a wheelbarrow full of shale on it, then it was too deep and no one could ride the track 🤣🤣
  10. Rybnik not riding this weekend so should be good to go... unless his knee injury flares up again 😉
  11. And some of the riders who fly in and fly out are the first ones to make a fuss if the tracks are a wet or not to their likings and then refuse to ride so meetings get called off.
  12. Surprised he’s still there tbh. If the rest of the team weren’t so good he’d be long gone.
  13. A poor monarchs side and Mr Bowes only scored 2 points 😲 must be the most inspired signing the pilots have made 🤣🤣. I did tell you that you had made a mistake signing the guy 😃
  14. 9 heats were “FTG” according to the updates site.😂 You could argue more because three others included references of someone rounding or coming under someone else on B2 L1. The worst track in the country.
  15. Get this in before @IainB does. Will Klindt turn up at Plymouth, as he will be in Poland the next day, probably? 🤷‍♀️🤭 If you want to be in the final you need Reid back imo.
  16. Speedway is definitely dead... No effort to run meetings, no tv coverage, ive actually stopped looking at results regularly now.. only today checked if sheffield rode monday to find this meeting already off.. Sheffield only ridden 2 home league matches and next planned in 2 weeks , they last rode 25th May No wonder there is no interest
  17. Bit of random guest booking that. Team riding a bit questionable by both teams tonight.
  18. However great the call proves to be it still leaves the Lions having only ridden 1 home match in 2 months! And only 4 home matches in 3 months by the end of June! And 2 of them against Sheffield!
  19. He's not going to put in a proper shift as a guest probably on a guarantee result a foregone conclusion on a crap track. Couple of big meetings for the gladiators coming up.
  20. Ipswich to Leicester would for mostly be by road and no airport exists within a thirty mile radius of Ipswich town so saving on flights is a little bit of an exaggeration. 😀 The problem with the sport in this country is that it employs riders who are hell bent on topping up earnings they make from the European clubs and it is these clubs that provide them with a living and they are not going to take risks that could jeopardise the overseas earnings. British speedway is in the invidious position of failing to offer a competitive form of entertainment because of the participants ultimate goal and it insists on pandering to a bunch of jerks who fly in and out of the UK ripping off UK punters. If anyone believes UK speedway is a viable proposition and stacks up then take a look at every overseas rider who plié’s their trade here and ask yourself do they care about the the UK supporters who partly put money in the pockets of these rip off merchants and will they go the extra mile to ride and entertain. The answer is no. Few punters buy the call off’s and the saving money excuses any longer. It is not a sport but a past time funded by a few soles who use it as a hobby and rely on the die hards to make it work in part for the profit and loss account. How anyone can make money running a business along the lines of UK speedway with a model that gives no control or management to the club owners is up with the fairies.
  21. Won’t be on the Phone to the lesser Thompson for guest booking any time soon.
