  1. Past hour
  2. You obviously were not there to see Cairns torpedo Piper into the fence, I watched Cairns throughout the meeting walking round the pits like some sort of prima donna , showing no humility at all like the GP riders I had witnessed only 24 hrs earlier at Belle Vue.
  3. Don’t shoot the messenger. I’m only telling you what the spirits are telling me..
  4. Yes, definitely - on top of a shared of the conversion cost you obviously have all the track installation and infrastructure costs as well, so wouldn't be cheap. Against that then you obviously also have a much larger capacity to offset the costs, and I do think a London SGP would sell well. This is what is on this summer, and, as athletics is included, the oval configuration will be in place https://www.london-stadium.com/residents-information/index.html
  5. Today
  6. Already left. He had to. The full truth comes out tonight...going to be explosive. He'll soon be staring at four walls and making sure he doesn't drop the soap! In the words of Clinton Baptiste: "I'm getting the word....nonce."
  7. Sadly every time the camera panned to the crowd it did look a little that way, the average age of those they panned to must have been age 50! The fanbase/lack of excitement in the crows not a great advert really to any young fans watching at home. The racing was superb across both nights, I am still not sure two GPs across the same weekend is good for the sport. In most cases riders that not dialled in on the first night, are probably not going to be dialled in on the second night. The TV production also seemed to focus on riders battling for 3rd/4th and a couple of times missed a race at the front.
  8. Just a guess but maybe the Berwick meeting has a different time constraint as it was moved due to the original BSN meeting vs Plymouth having to be postponed due to the stadium issues.
  9. I watched it delayed by about 45 minutes and didn’t have any issues. Fast forwarded between heats and nearly caught up to ‘live’ by the end. Perhaps that’s the best way to watch it if you don’t like long drawn out meetings.
  10. Ex riders, and sponsors of riders who take over clubs, are, in the main, the ones who provide the sport.... They are too close to the sport and know nothing other than what has gone before, therefore, do pretty much, exactly the same.. The raw material of a fast, high octane, colourful, exciting sport, all done in a minute so perfect for modern day attention spans, is clearly something that has potential to be exploited. However, white, middle aged males, with almost zero marketing, media and entrepreneurial skills, certainly need some people working with them who do possess those skills...
  11. Cardiff was no Wembley was it?... The racing isn't as good as it used to be is it?... The riders of today are not as good as their counterparts of yesteryear are they?... Etc. Etc. Etc ..
  12. Some promoters haven’t got a clue how to run meetings, they think people have unlimited attention spans and can watch meetings that takes hours to run. Its like they said on 360 speedway this week, its needs to be bang bang bang, slick operation and always something to keep the public interested between races. They are doing the same things and playing the same music they were 30 years ago.
  13. Pirates social media sites had it within minutes of the final!!
  14. Maybe time for the Island club to "come home" to ACU speedway, and rejoin the NDL next year?
  15. Weren’t West Ham 'gifted' this stadium on the understating it would/could be used for other events?
  16. The weather darn sarf in London is decent usually. The catchment area is definitely there. The authorities could publicise it to death, showing old Wembley finals as well as referring to the ‘ local team of yesteryear’ the West Ham Hammers , to appeal to the locals. Grandads might take their grandkids . Get that east end boy Barry Hearn involved. It’s all a dream but the sport needs a big positive to lean towards and that could definitely be it.
  17. We have two so it is viable... The cost of purchasing the event to run would be too prohibitive for one nights takings.. The East Stand means the capacity increases sufficiently to ensure ticket prices are affordable to "enough people".. Even with its huge cost to set up... On a one night GP you would have no East Stand, a 4,500 or so capacity, and, therefore, no ticket less than £100.... I presume the GP promoters are happy too, as they will get paid for two GP's rather than just the one payment they usually get..
  18. typical speedway fans, harping on about the good old days. Cardiff has had its day it was a bore fest and has long gone. Perhaps if someone could organise the making of Cardiff programme boards and flasks that would bring back the good old days for some?
  19. The entertainment after every four heats could be interesting 😬
  20. Hi Steve, yes once the live broadcast has completed, the vod file will be active a few minutes later, and this remains active for all that have purchased the live stream ongoing.
  21. Seems strange that they've not done a double header with this, an SWC and a SGP round 🤷‍♂️
  22. They'd have to make sure David Sullivan stayed away....
  23. It is very much a "UK Speedway thing" isn't it... Your comments will no doubt generate plenty of "what do you expect?", or "we should be lucky they cover the sport"... Fans are now conditioned to make allowances for UK Speedway... The reality of course is that so much of what UK Speedway delivers is down to an absence of any defined "Quality Control"... Phil Morris had the amazing ideas to start meetings on time, have a 2 min clock visible to fans, had those coloured helmet starting mats, and told tracks to make the centre greens look good with the sponsors clearly displayed... Imagine needing someone to tell you that?.. Amazing that so much off track mediocrity is delivered by the very people who wouldn't be too pleased if the lads on track delivered the same..
  24. I watched it right from the start of racing with a couple of riders captions being a bit out but corrected.BsN is great value for money if you have a package, but suppose there are some that will always find fault. You obviously didn’t watch the GPs at the Weekend or you would have been outraged.🤔😂
