The weather can play a huge role also. Just seen the forecast for the next few weeks, and meteorological Autumn starts with low pressure and plenty of wet stuff around. We saw how much of a lottery the final was a couple of seasons ago at Sheffield in farcical conditions. Any favourites on paper would go right out of the window, it would simply be a case of who handles the conditions better. Lets hope the weather doesn’t spoil things..

Workington v Berwick 31/08/2025 6pm.

Some heavy showers dotted around locally, but the main problem would be the very gusty winds , Northside is very exposed and the direction the wind was coming, would be blowing from turn 3/4 right down the center green to turn 1/2 reported gusts mid afternoon at 45 mph, average 25 mph this would not be good for the riders or the fans. Dammed if you do dammed if you don't -
Pressure all on the Witches given you don't get many opportunities to build a team so much over the limit... (Great planning by the way)... One injury to either of their top two will destroy them though given the guest replacements from the bottom three teams... And RR would by a huge risk given the "engine room" can go missing... Leicester still the dark horses for me, with Sheffield's home track advantage (so many seem to hate the place), could also prove decisive. The Aces top three need almost four perfect meetings for them to have a chance given their bottom four are miles out of their depth at the highest, play off, level... If Fricke stays fit, Leicester to win...

Not Berwicks 😉only iffy rainoffs prolong Berwicks -
I might bed Sydney Sweeney as well.
-
Sheffield might well finish top yet ?

Clubs losing money need to seriously look in the mirror, Plymouth who are hardly world beaters and have a very limited track and space have upped their crowds considerably by the looks of it through some savvy work on social media etc. Granted in some cases things can’t be avoided but I absolutely think there would be a lot to be said for promotions being less insular and less of the ‘woe is me’ attitude.

He always looked faster because nobody does or has ever raced a speedway bike like zmarzlik, there are quite a few riders lighter than zmarzlik, zmarzlik is by quite a distance better than any rider in history, that’s not to say he isn’t beatable and it’s not just in GPs either, the guys will to win in any event anywhere is untouchable

Playoff Predictions
cowboy cookie returns? replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Personally I think the play offs are wide open. Belle Vue have been poor on the road but Lemon will ensure his riders are jeeded up for the semis. Sheffield are possibly the most up & down of the 4 teams but again more than capable of stringing decent performances together. Leicester are possibly the most consistent team at the moment. They certainly cannot be written off. My team Ipswich, while on paper & with the results they have had at on the road should make them favourites. However since Doyle & Thompson have been back we have been inconsistent. Making hard work of things & not performing as a team against Lynn at home in the cup. Anything can happen these play offs are wide open & should be great for the neutrals. If you support either of the 4 contenders it’s going to be stressful! -
Probably agree lewy, but he does a lot of work for the club, so not as simple as jumping in Gary's car one night a week

Brady may have an eye on the Championship but I dont think it will affect the outcome, Ipswich are a much stronger team than Belle Vue.
-
As I said that is his opinion. There were many others who put hours of their time and energy into birmingham speedway who have now walked away also with dignity quietly.
-
Brady will 100% have one eye on voyens, and who can blame him. I don’t. If only we could have finished 3rd and got the 2nd week of the play offs Dan said it himself. Hes not bothered about finishing 3rd. Means nothing to Him

Thought Godfrey said last year he had Luke Harrison on a 5 year contract?
-
We will have him at Plymouth
-
Come to Plymouth, ride down with Garry you'll be made welcome and appreciated at our happy little club.

There's a strong hint on facebook that Luke Harrison (the one rider Scorps fans seem unanimous on keeping) is off to Workington next year.
