  4. Rob Godfey implied some big news before the start of this season, whether that is a sponsor or something else ?
  5. Today
  6. Ford is spot on planning needs to start now , I know he's marmite but I personally think if he was made the big chief the sport would be in a way better place than it is now. Harry and co need to come up with something when did they come on board Nov 2025 ? from memory and all we have had so far is Linda L in what looked like a travel lodge room filming herself with a paper bag pulling out names for the ko cup which hasn't resulted in the ten's of thousands of lost fans heading back and Linda probably copped at least a grand for ten minutes work. I'm leaning towards keeping two leagues but unless a 500k plus sponsor is found, we know the current top league format isn't financially feasible personally think an eight team top league would need to be current championship standard, second division teams of seven a couple of old hands per team Rambo Lambo, Ben Barker etc, 3-4 English youngsters (under 24) and allow a couple of possible foreign rough diamonds in also ideally Aussie and USA who having no formal home league structure might stick around a while longer than the Danes and Swedes. If a second division team could be moulded to the type of 1-7 Lynn juniors had last year with say a couple of decent under 24 foreign youngsters per team might keep interest at current levels. I really hope its not all kicked until Nov plus this year with the old fingers crossed format that something might turn up.
  7. Oh I feel sleepy already…….no disrespect intended but he isn’t what is needed dull & dishwater springs to mind.
  8. I remember the cat park incident, can't remember the other incidents... that's not to say they didn't happen.
  9. Looks like it’s across the board at £25/£23 entrance fee. They must have got their heads together on this one. Only saving grace with the smaller league is fans outlay to see their team before any cup progression is less this year. Whether this represents value for money at your particular track is another thing.
  10. What the £30 or the posh northerners? Yes, a premium adult grandstand ticket for a league match says £30 on their website.
  11. Forgive me if my memory's faulty, but i think there were a couple of severe vandalism incidents during the Hemsley era, which resulted in security measures being implemented. There was also the strange robbery incident when cash takings were taken from Mr & Mrs Hemsley in the car park.
  12. Nobody is forced to donate, purely a personal decision. The promotion have been overwhelmed by the support, both financial and practical, that they have received to date. How long does it take insurance companies to pay out? The need is now! Not in a few months time.
  13. Going twos up on Agnetha does have a bit more appeal than with Charles Wright.
  14. Thanks. That will at least give an early indication of any change in approach by the Council
  15. Interesting post. Are there any council elections due in Rugby in the near future that may have an effect on a CPO being considered?
  16. He didn't mention police. If there had been CCTV to alert everyone on night one of the vandalism, it might have been possible to have some dubious lads with iron bars on standby for day 2 to avoid a repeat. I know of 2 tracks in the past where this has been an effective solution.
  17. While it seems a sensible approach, will there be too many unknowns. Will Northampton and perhaps Ipswich be successful enough this year to continue in a Premiership level league? Will Sheffield be up for sale or sold. If the latter will the new owners opt to stay I the top tier or want to drop down. Similarly which league will Leicester want? The rider talks could turn everything on its head if they opt out of racing in Britain if terms aren't to their liking. Really we can't let them hold us to ransom, even if it means going to one league and a "ground zero" approach. These guys may have to face the reality of British Speedways being part time and think about getting a day job. How many work during the close season? Not to many I'd guess. Something has to change!
  18. You must live in Shangri-La where the police bother to track down certain groups of people after they've committed crime 🙃
  19. A different version... Like the UK used to do before it came a free for all... I can see then using the current UK model next year if Poland get their way...
  20. Up to £30 at Belle Vue for those posh rich northerners 😉
  21. £25, just a stroke of good luck that nobody who follows speedway or would potentially follow speedway is in any way feeling a pinch on their finances and are having to tighten their belts
