Isn't it league fixtures that count?

Ok without the inevitable accusation by omission , why has he gone back in prison . ? I actually know but I'm happy to hear any conjecture you may have to offer

I have to disagree with the batch comment. Batch has been our best rider of the last 3 years. This season he's had one or two bad performances snd the rest acceptable. I would've brought batch back this season as well after his performances as number 1 last season. Hind sight is a wonderful thing but im sure the promotion probably thought jeppesen and cookie would be 1 and 5, with batch at 3.

15 out of 20 is 75%. David Howe is correct

It’s this and NSS he was always going to struggle on. We’ll see though you never know.

Premiership 2027 - Are You Interested??
GeneralMelchett replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I can't believe promotions took the money and ran, they simply paid it away to the riders so they had a (better?) chance of winning something! It's part of the circle of sport and, perhaps controversially, us fans have to accept we are sometimes part of the problem here! -
because there is no new site and they full well know it , no stone has been left unturned in the quest for an alternative site and none have ever been found , brandon estates are now fully singing from Gaming internationals bible of how to build on a stadium with the empty promise of a new site , then make no effort to even go through the sham of finding one ,once the first brick has been laid

No interest in this? Looks to be the playoff final contenders on current form (and depending if Holder returns to fitness in time.) LEICESTER: Ryan Douglas, Dan Thompson, Nick Morris, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Drew Kemp, Joe Thompson. BELLE VUE: Brady Kurtz, Norick Blodorn, Peter Kildemand, Zach Cook, Jason Doyle, Tate Zischke, Will Cairns.

Who would be a promoter eh? Afterall we all know what we think we might or should do - but of course most plans don’t survive first contact or in a speedway sense everything works until the tapes go up!
-
In this weeks star David Howe says we can't make any changes after the Redcar meeting, which I think is incorrect because we still won't have completed 75% of our fixtures.

Not quite 0%. Junior racing, check. (Go Dan!) Track surface & equipment, check. Investment in stadium, big check. We’ve not needed to use our track covers as only if there is bad rain during a meeting do we feel the need to call it off. Rain beforehand runs off well due to the investment in an effective drainage system. I get what you say about the squandering of the Sky money in speedway generally. -

And whose fault was that ?we had a massive opportunity when Sky was on board but 0% investment by promotions - they just took the money and ran - every track should have could have invested in track covers should have could have invested in junior racing like in Poland Sweden and Denmark - track surface should have been improved better grading equipment investment in stadiums so much that’s should have could have been improved so little wonder Sky Sports walked away -
Friday 24th July: Edinburgh Monarchs v Plymouth Gladiators (Championship, Armadale, 7:30pm) ROSS ECO TECHNOLOGIES MONARCHS: Dan Thompson, rider replacement for Paco Castagna, Justin Sedgmen (capt.), Jonatan Grahn, Kye Thomson, Mitch Cluff, Jordy Loftus. OBM GLADIATORS: Danny King, Joe Thompson, Daniel Klima, Ben Barker (capt.), Scott Nicholls, Anze Grmek, Ben Whalley. Following the match there will be four races of a Vintage Bike display, Scotland v England. The bikes will be displayed prior to the meeting. And of course it is Ed the Monarch's birthday! A full strength Plymouth will be dangerous opponents. They have Ben Whalley at reserve who scored 13 for Monarchs Academy last Friday at Armadale, and Danny King and Scott Nicholls are two of the best visiting riders. Monarchs without Paco (SGP challenge) and go with R/R with no suitable guests available on another busy Friday night. I think Kye, Jonatan and the two reserves can take his rides. Should be a close one.

Apart from Belle Vue away. The team has had close respectable results they are so near to winning it’s been frustrating at times.
-
Yes and no. Riders losing form is part of normal business but 1 win and 2 draws from 16 meetings certainly isn't. It's double frustrating because everything else seems to be done well but the team has been allowed to drag. It's not too late - a late season signing can at least make the table look respectable and give fans something to cheer but I'm guessing they're happy to limp and cry "first season!"
