  1. Past hour
  2. having seen Scott last season he wont be 'woefully out of his depth' at all, or is it just a case of Ipswich fans putting down young british riders again?
  3. thats a typical speedway statement someone cant count very well Now aged 31, the man from Newcastle, New South Wales, has come a long way since a tough British bow with Edinburgh as a fresh-faced 20-year-old almost a decade ago.
  4. It would but it’s not every Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, Denmark and Sweden seem to be squad systems, some riders only seem to do one meeting or so a season
  5. thats how it should be teams who sign riders should announce it
  6. It's not about the principle of if someone should have a higher average in the Championship - that's very obvious What its about is ensuring only suitable riders take team spots in the Premiership It shouldnt be a set up that has 2 point newcomers who in 99% of cases would be woefully out of their depth. It should be about higher standards and riders capable of being competitive If you can't see that logic then your brain is 2 points short of a team limit
  7. Pretty sure he won the under 21 golden helmet in Czech rep this year also
  8. what a difference a year makes they all wanted him out but 12 months later quite a few wanted him back id have liked jye to have another year at workington
  9. I’d be surprised if Bowes outscores Mcdirmad this season.
  10. Surely there'll be a rider announcement shortly we are finding out from other teams who we haven't got next year but still waiting in anticipation.
  11. Not convinced they have stronger a stronger 1-5. Lawson was the best rider in the league last year, we don’t know how the unknown Glasgow riders will fare, happy to have Zach over Rowe and Howarth. Bowes outscored Mitch Mcdimrd last year. A fully fit Riss trumps Kerr and Flint but will he be fit? Killeen Gilkes and the new German are all close on paper. Certainly happy with the Poole team and happy that the league is looking more competitive, not seen a wooden spoon team just yet.
  12. TBH having looked at a few permutations, I think I'd go with.. Kurtz Vuolas Blodorn Lidsey Bewley Zischke Mulford
  13. I'm amazed that anyone is prepared to pay anything. He would be lucky if someone leases it for a season. I'd snap their hands off unless he knows something we don't
  14. In an ever shrinking sport, where your only assets are some Speedway related fixture and fittings (plus a couple of tractors), and sponsors can sometimes be only there due to following specific riders, who may no longer be riding for you, and no TV deal... The valuation will be very much up for some huge negotiation you would imagine...
  15. That would be one hell of a schedule particularly when you add in the GP’s as well.
  16. There was a rider who flew in last week to do a deal with Ipswich and catch up with some friends and he was with another top rider, don’t know if a deal was done for either of them though
  17. Sweden Tuesdays, Denmark Wednesdays and Poland weekends, leaves Monday and Thursday free for uk
  18. of course it doesnt make sense, why would he have a higher average in the top league, if anything it should be lower? Last season Kings Lynn built a strength in depth team and people moaned and this season it might be top heavy and people are still complaining about it.
  19. Today
  20. Very true; lots of ifs. I think the owners and Brown are due credit for their team building efforts as they’ve put together a squad with a ton of potential. It’s now whether or not that translates into results. Oxford do look very good, as do Poole. Let’s hope for another season of (mostly😂) great speedway.
  21. I can see where you’re coming from. They’re gambles, but I’m under the impression both Pedersen and Hausl are highly regarded, so hopefully that correlates in to performances and points. I know they’re not like-for-like, but how do they compare to Nagel in signing terms? Are they the more impressive acquisition, or was he?
  22. My avoidance of signing Klindt has nothing to do with his Polish/Danish/Swedish activity, he's just flaky and always has been.
  23. You may be correct, who knows. If you are, then Louis needs to be careful that he is not painting himself into a corner. Closing the club down for a year is very likely to decrease its value further particularly in a downgraded ‘one league scenario’ for 2027. Also, it’s easier to sell a business that is still trading. Taking an offer now could be preferable to a reduced offer or even no offers following the 2026 season. Perhaps, he is hoping for a 2027 model that is more to his liking and continuing to run the club after a seasons break. Only time will tell.
