What about Northampton?
Teromaafan replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Whoever is control of media/marketing clearly isn't on it. The season starts next month and we don't know who the owners are, the riders they've signed, team nickname or team colours. They are going to need to get every man and his dog they can get through the turnstiles to give this venture a chance. They need to look outside the current speedway bubble for interest. Supporters of other teams will visit the track initially for the novelty, but a core fan base is essential for it to be sustainable. -

I agree - I'm all for a bit of patience but was expecting something within 48 hours of the announcement/fixture release -
Vintage races are Jade Mudgway & Theo Pijper for Redcar vs Stuart Swales and Stuart Robson for Newcastle. ๐คฃ

Why? Have you been to the NORA meetings, not much if any difference in standard to the national league

Back to Northampton, announce they running and then silence again, what a strange way to conduct a business - Today

I can send you a message right now and it will be with you in a nanosecond. The idea that the world hasn't progressed in 60 years is utterly ludicrous. If enough people wanted paper and post they'd use it more and the service would be better, but they don't and this is the result.

I can only think they haven't heard him. Now if it was for bed time stories or hypnosis, I could fully understand. Arrrh maybe that's it, they are going to hypnotis everyone into thinking it's the best thing they have ever seen

Try Theo Pijperโฆ -
Surely, anyone willing to run a speedway venue is not going to be so thin-skinned or woke as to be deterred by comments which are mainly observational, questioning, or humorous?

British final 15th August
Neila replied to Neila's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Got to feel ( a little bit ๐) for any Poole fans who were planning a mini tour to Edinburgh/ Workington in mid summer, with this new fixture many fans do not know if they can make plans to follow their team oop north -

Well, when??!! ๐คทโโ๏ธ Promoters wonder why shortage of away fans at tracks ๐ There is no reason why they couldnt have decided when the BF was going to be before Championship fixtures came out especially if they are going to steal one of their race nights. It doesnt affect the Prem calendar. They definitely need to do an online course on how to be organised. -

Slightly worried about mayfield now. Talking about better promotion & how the sport suites TikTok & thatโs the way to draw a new audience then get Foz in to present. He sounded old hat when he did it before. -

Why have it when teams are on a mini northern tour. So rude! ๐๐ Wonder how many riders will pull out of the meeting now there is no wild card on offer? -

Chances are those championship teams will have riders in the British final. Iโd imagine theyโd be rearranged, which begs the question why release them in the first place -
Date announced for British final, good news it's on a Saturday night. Bad news 6 championship teams are riding the same night so either fans won't be able to go, or a mid summer fixture will have to be rearranged ๐ค . More bad news probably polish meetings so maybe unavailability of several riders ๐ค.

What about Northampton?
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The site I was referring to is close to cradley heath but houses are literally 100yards from edge of land, the rocky lane site is perfect in every aspect but the council for whatever reason donโt seem keen to have it there, 3 other sites have potential but are 5 miles from cradley but one especially has a very major plus going for it but dealing with councils is a drag, it can be weeks/months be for you get a reply, we contacted entain about a track share to run wolves on a Monday and cradley on a Wednesday but they said not at this time(whatever that means) ? -

Deanno, what do we consider to be to close to houses ? surely BV is close to houses but it is something the council wanted so it was allowed, surely if something improves the area as a whole then it can be put forward for outline planning permission ?, discounting farmers fields i am aware of pretty much 99.9% of sites around Cradley Heath obviously their is no ideal site otherwise it would have been found by now, ideally a track share with Wolves would be ideal and if a site was big enough a track within a track could be the way to track share (the inside track for Wolves), The Lion Farm site just off Junction 2 of the M5 would have been ideal for a project such as that, but again the local council prefer to let the site become more and more run down before it eventually becomes uneconomic to repair and will be sold off to developers, in the meantime they refuse to lease the site and receive an annual rental income which could have been be reinvested.
