Glasgow vs Poole KOC SF 2nd leg 7/9/25

Lanning should have absolutley NOTHING to do with it. I was stood by the pit gate as Cami was well aware of, and i didn't hear a thing. But, as i put in my post, if there was any bad language from "poole fans" im very sure that our management would like to know who the individuals are. Banter is one thing personel insults is another. -

The Aces have a bottom three at home, and a bottom four away... You cannot get away with such a long tail against the best team in the league... The bottom four will score 8 Max between them.. The Aces have averaged around just 37 this year at all away tracks... And that is with plenty of TS rides helping the score... -
SCB are basically saying we messed up, so we're going to punish Kent! Unbelievable!

Whether the things quoted in the article or not were said, which Iâm inclined to think they have been, some of the quotes are shameful. Yeah we all get a little competitive, especially against a rival, but wishing a rider dead after a crash? Come on man, thatâs just barbaric. Whoever you are, whether youâre on this forum or not, take yourself away from the sport because there is absolutely NO place for comments like that. Yeah the Glasgow management are just banging the drum again, maybe to fire up the team or draw bigger crowd numbers in. Itâs good marketing because itâs all people seem to be talking about. Talking should be done on the track, we all have riders who we like and dislike for whatever reasons, me included, but I wouldnât for a second ever wish any of them dead. Anyways, as our âpartnersâ up the tigers hopefully they get the win and knock the pirates out. -
The next three meetings at the NSSC offer an insight into organisations working hard to improve and support speedway. On Tuesday 16th September Bert Harkins and Peter Schroeck represent the World Speedway Riders Association. The WSRA is the oldest and most prestigious association for former riders, officials and supporters. Apart from their support of former riders the WSRA have sponsored the NDL for the last two seasons and offer other incentives for young riders. On Tuesday 14th October the NSSC host a special Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund evening. Joining Paul Ackroyd will be Chris Van Straaten and Jan Staechmann. Lots to discuss with some very interesting guests with all proceeds on the night going to the SRBF. On Tuesday 28th October the NSSC welcomes Pippa Laverty who is on the FIM Womenâs Commission and the ACU Ambassador for Women. Another interesting evening discussing the future of women in speedway. All meetings start at 8pm. Everyone is welcome with entry only ÂŁ4. All proceeds for the GB Young Lions (except for the Benâ Fund evening) The venue is the Brandon Club (which is just down the road from the stadium) Brandon Club, Main Street, Brandon, Coventry, CV8 3HW Car park at rear and plenty of on-street parking. Full bar with hot drinks and snacks. All details; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk

When Belle Vue moved to the National Speedway Stadium many incentives to buy a season ticket were on offer. Year on year since then no incentives whatsoever, only a continual purge on the aging fans purse strings. Every club that offers season tickets should show how much the fans are appreciated by giving them a shirt/scarf. Why is everyone moaning about how so few fans wear team merchandise, when the reality is they cannot afford them. It was unjustifiable to raise the price for Mondays meeting and really what has club merchandise got to do with it?

Well... I don't know if anyone has travelled south of Wolverhampton on a train but there are acres of no longer used delict ex-industry sites (they're a stones throw from Monmore). But it probably doubles the cost of developing the land for other use if demolishing & disposing of waste in such areas than developing on green space.

I feel there is another agenda here to keep repeating it over and again in the press. Maybe trying to put off riders who are angling of a move to Poole over Glasgow?! Just a thought. Muddy the water? -
Belle Vue are doing okay like Glasgow but letâs say 45 years ago when they were in the hey day of speedway, football was still attracting massive attendance numbers, what was the draw? It was cheap to watch, it was cheap too ride (if you wanted) it was fairly regular most weekends youâd be at home and probably somewhere away, fairly local indeed and because of that it was tribal so if you were in a group of friends and went to watch it was the craic giving opposite team some stick and usually good fun and friends followed it (like Poland now), fast forward to today, premier league, Monday or Thursday nights, work, school etc after school clubs, more expensive than imho it should be (but letâs park that) and hardly any local derby and kids just not interested in the sport unfortunately unless they are actually riding themselves, and there are less and less of them because of the cost

Sound advice, you can just transfer a bit more if needed and convert while you're there, all done though their app, whatever you don't spend you can convert it back to ÂŁs and put it back in your bank. I use Revolut for every trip abroad, never had a problem, completely hassle free. -

Agreed on the fans wearing the gear, I was stood in the first bit of the stand off the 2nd bend, just behind the half dozen Ipswich fans who had made the trip, (kudos to them), there were plenty around me wearing the club stuff, including a couple of the Witches fans. I wouldn't wear it at my age, 65, but would've loved some of the gear available now in my younger days. Back then the only choices were a black, white and red anorak, or a red, white and black anorak, oh and a bobble hat, now there are hoodies, t-shirts, bandanas, all kinds of hats etc. As someone pointed out, seeing the Poles twirling there scarves following a race victory is great to watch, it's just a whole different sport over there isn't it, something we can only dream of now. I can remember the sights and sounds of the BLRC at Hyde Rd, for me it's the only thing that comes close to what we see in Poland.

I agree it's not easy to compete, but that isn't a reason to just not bother either. Worryingly, it comes across as if most involved in the sport share your way of thinking. You've named 2 clubs that BV have to compete against locally, and yet they seem to do a pretty good job. They're one of the biggest/most successful clubs in Britain. If they can manage that with 2 huge football clubs on their doorstep, what's stopping others? Who's competing locally with Kings Lynn, for example? Glasgow are another who have done very well, and another with 2 huge football clubs sharing the city. I assume it's also very difficult and costly to get a ticket to watch any of the clubs mentioned above? Surely that's something we could at least try and exploit? People want to watch live sport, they want entertainment, so why not give them a fast-paced motorsport, plenty of entertainment and all for X% of what it would cost to watch a football match? As I said in my first post though, it's not VFM to watch speedway at 99% of places in this country, so people won't bother.

It is bordering on incitement in my opinion. Yes it is wrong what happened but it should not be continually aired in public. -
On the subject of merch I was in Loughborough last week and a chap in the high street was wearing his Leicester Lions shirt Had a chat with him about the play offs A rare event anywhere these days

SCB should have revoked the guest facility for Foord the moment Workingtonâs match was off. However, SCB is not structured to work that way. Its modus operandi is after the event.

And my case in point is CVS in speedway star today, not a idea unless he is advocating every rider buying and old jag and putting the bike on the back of it, he says the last time we did one big league the fans enjoyed it but it wasnât a success, stupid me thought speedway was for the fans

An issue like this can be kept in house between the BSPA/SCB and both clubs and dealt with properly. Yet Lanning and Brown continue to keep adding fuel to the fire asking for trouble in the return leg with these constant press releases. -
