  1. Past hour
  2. Thank you for all that you have done and don't be lost to the Sport, there is one glaring omission from the names that you have mentioned so from that I take it that he was one of the influencers and probably the main one, feel free to correct me if i am wrong 🫠.
  3. Didn't Glasgow ask for volunteers to run streams a year or so ago but none were forthcoming so the idea got dropped so they weren't against it at all.
  4. Nope. Increase attendance but not revenue before attendance dropped back to normal levels with a decrease in revenue. All the initiatives haven’t worked to any great degree in the past though it could be said we are filling a leaky bucket given the age of our fan base so even standing still can be seen as a little victory. Being optimistic for a moment the current push for families using more modern channels of approach seems to be paying off with an always well attended bank holiday being very well attended, so the battle continues.
  5. Good work! It’s what life is all about, enjoying moments and having fun! I would be over for the GP and Gorzow this weekend but Sunday going South of France, bad timing! I’ll be watching Gorzow closely and praying! If you haven’t got tickets sit as close to the exit of bend two on the back straight for the best experience, it’s where the riders come out and warm up too and the teams sit. I heard that this is the biggest crowd Stal have had all season, so far around 10,000 tickets sold.
  6. Today
  7. Been to ZG before but never on first and second bend, the noise and atmosphere is amazing,Wrocław tonight and then on to Gorzow tomorrow then long drive home then on to Isle of Wight Tuesday to ride in the upright championship, life of the international jet setter lol
  8. Thursday the 11th would be the second leg of the 1st vs 4th play off. Ipswich would be in it.
  9. Is Fraser Bowes meeting off today? Think it possibly said something last night on the sportwar_____ (part of updates site) about Tarnow meeting being off and rearranged for next week.
  10. There will be less discussion in the return leg as there wont be any video evidence to look at.
  11. He was left no room typical unsatisfactory start although some may think there has to be contact.
  12. Maybe because meeting held under a PZM licence. It says if you're representing GB abroad your covered. Maybe it applies to all events and tracks under the jurisdiction of a National organisation.
  13. I also noticed people I knew from Hull who I'd never seen at Scunny, or any track, before Friday, hope they enjoyed what they saw. Some good racing, one or two incedents to talk about and - pretty sure I've never seen a 5-0 to each side in the one match. You can ever really tell with speedway, not 100%, keeps the sport interesting....
  14. Yesterday
  15. I don't know why the SCB keep picking on NORA, apart from being bullies? They don't stop riders racing grass track, long track, flat track or in Poland. These events are not on SCB tracks. In fact I'm sure when Charles Wright got injured in Poland a couple of years back he got support from the SRBF, which is contrary to the rules listed above!
  16. Pretty sure max will be back next week anyway
  17. He can’t either rides for Birmingham at NDT. Belle Vue v Edinburgh could be off with premier play offs.
  18. No mention of the space Lawson had when he put his down I see……🙄
  19. So it's game on for Workington they now know what they have to do to get into the play offs, win all three of their remaining fixtures plus the aggregate bonus points and build up a plus 16 points difference along the way, so for clarity that's plus 25 points over three meetings so an average of just just over +8 per meeting. Not an impossible ask. The most tricky bit is on the 5th Sept vs the Bears me thinks, bearing in mind that they lost the home leg 39-51.
  20. Still time for Jimmy Grieves to come out of retirement and obtain an absence reduction average down to 2.34 🤔
  21. Crowd tonight was decent imo - and a cracking meeting between the two teams, when isn't Scunny v Redcar a good meeting? I have heard in the bar this evening a Scorpion has hung the boots up and tonight was his final speedway meeting, but i'll leave that for him to announce when hes ready to do so. Credit to the Bears! Good luck to them in the playoffs and all the semi finals and finals their in. It does seem weird wishing people a Merry Christmas in August....
  22. So after 4 seasons as a Director & Shareholder that's my time with Birmingham Speedway at an end. An eventful, at times stressful, at times farcical and at times enjoyable experience! A huge thanks to the small but loyal Brummie fanbase that put up with season after season of under performing teams, you deserved better! Full credit and my upmost respect to Nigel Tolley, he wasn't far short with the figures he quoted in the recent speedway star interview with what he invested in the club (there was also a six figure investment from other shareholders during the period I must add). Nigel is as mad as a (top) hatter, but I really like the guy. My only criticism of him (and he knows this, I told him enough times) is that he allowed himself to be influenced by others who failed to deliver for the club! Seeing the day to day finances and operations of the a Championship and then Premiership club is a real eye opener, so a massive thanks to Financial Director Tracey Smith, who somehow managed to juggle the finances to keep everyone happy (most of the time) a truly lovely lady, she has been the glue in a massively disjointed operation, which would have fallen apart without her. Some priceless moments over the 4 years on the management zoom meetings / race nights - I could write a book! You also learn a lot about riders, some smashing chaps around Paco Castagna (legend) Freddie Lindgren, Tobi M, Leon Flint, Sam Hagon, Jason Edwards, Thompson twins all really good guys! No comment about some mind Made some great friends, I will miss Guesty, Dave Rowe, Pete & Dan Ballinger, Chris Adams, the guys and girls from the supporters club and fellow shareholders Steven, Jake and Vic. Such a shame that Birmingham Speedway is no more, but without Nigel it wouldn't have got into 2023 let alone 2025 and for that alone he deserves the respect of those who knock him! Give us a B.....! Cheers Paul
