So a new owner/promoter comes along with his speedway fingers in several pies, spends some money, in fluences the British gp venue and puts forward some of his ideas for the future of British league speedway including no 'self governance'!! So he doesn't want to become the voice of the BSPL then?! 'Micro or macro'?

You might be right but wouldn’t the top table have a say in calling it ‘ The National Speedway Stadium ‘ ? Why put TV money into something that the sport is only going to use for one BIG meeting a season ?

Despite his excellent input on Friday night, I’m not exactly chomping at the bit to see Rowe in Glasgow colours next season, but the above concerns would be eradicated by the depth of the Facenna’s pockets. I support a couple of riders (I’m visible on one riders’ equipment) through sponsorship, so although I’m not in the know, I’ve had a few conversations around the Ashfield pits with club representatives who are. From those discussions, I understand we compensate incredibly well which subsequently, will frustrate the ownership, given this season’s failings. The same person who told me that informed me of Howarth’s pending departure a week or two in advance of it actually happening.

These days like in Poland some riders have a mechanic who drives the van, and riders have a cheap internal flight from down south to Glasgow and other places in the north or south for that matter. Can get flights from Glasgow to / from the South for £25 😄

Leta just say Ippo town centre could be twinned with Falujah she's no Bath or Cambridge, that aside glad they have it Coleman deserves some wins for the amount of time and money he's putting in to try and haul the sport off its deathbed and we know the patient won't be willingly dragged off of said bed.

As is often said... The size of the crowd makes the atmosphere.... Which then ensures memories of the event are good ones... A very ordinary event can live long in the memory when you were part of something with great audience numbers and participation .. Baffling why so many promoters don't seem to understand that and make kids their target market, and let them in for free... Hopefully there will be a knock on early next season and crowds will see more yearly growth... Such a small town should have some kind of "civic event" if (when) they win the cup, that would bring some great publicity.

I don’t think so. It makes no logical sense. He rides Poland weekends and riding for Glasgow would take over 2 days out of his working week. Full day drive both ways. Plus a fortune in van fuel fees with wear and tear. Sheffield is far enough for a southern based rider to want to travel. My guess is he remains at Oxford but who knows other than Anders? Likeable lad and his dad is salt of the earth lovely chap. Plymouth will be looking for some younger riders this winter.

At the end of the day, the very nature of this sport means that your career could come to an end in your very next meeting. 95% of riders will go where the best deal is offered and so they should. Nothing wrong with that either. Not saying that is the case here with Cooper, he could well be in that tiny minority who put loyalty and happiness where he is, above money. If that’s the case, then fair play to him. There’ll no doubt be cases out there where riders reject a bigger contract because they’re happy and settled where they are, and have a good relationship with the owner and trust them. But the vast majority will chase the coin.

Now it’s official that Ipswich is to host the 2027 British GP then one has to assume Belle Vue is no longer the ‘ National Stadium ‘ ? Never understood why the National Stadium ( Belle Vue ) has not staged the likes of the Riders Championship Finals ( all 3 divisions ) , Fours final ( when we had them ) U-19 and U-21 finals etc etc but now it is only to stage the British Final ( I assume ? ) then it hardly deserves the title of ‘ National Stadium ‘ with it only hosting a dozen Aces meetings and a British Final.

So the fella rocks up literally months ago, has got a GP round down there, is ploughing money in this winter to revamp the track and improve racing for supporters, and he’s talking to big names because Ipswich are “not there to make up the numbers”. What a team Newport ended that season with. We stumbled over the line a little after losing Josh at Plymouth.

Money talks and in order to progress you need that, probably quite rightly speaks highly of Lynn as they've given him an opportunity but Lambert probably once did too Can see him and either Belle Vue or Ipswich

It doesn’t help young home grown riders either. the ideal scenario would be Glasgow put out a junior team. When Ace went to Redcar and ride for both teams he improved vastly. I know Mario wouldn’t qualify for this, but if we had a team in that league headed by Hodder and Hagon it would have helped them no end.
