  3. Dan Thompson joined the team at Tapes 2 Flag podcast and discussed his thought's on joining the Monarchs amongst other things
  4. Which one of the 1st 2 are you @lewy 😁
  5. The "Gold Top" is more powerful than the "Semi-Skimmed" version! Sorry, I'll get my coat.
  6. Today
  7. The reality of not seeing Top 16 and the Format are big factors in live attendances.Im definitely not a fan of the format or points allocated on the night.Just my opinion though.
  8. Yes, all that... but think of the intangibles i.e. profile, awareness, press coverage etc.
  9. I remember reading that Cardiff was circa six figures to hire the venue... And was kept by the owners of the series rights as their own promotion and not tendered out to anyone else... Warsaw was the same... Presume as they were considered "cash cows"... The Welsh Tourist Board subsidised the costs to some degree too... 40,000 at around forty quid must have been worth doing... 20,000 at around forty quid much less so, hence no more Cardiff...
  10. Didnt know that ,but u know speedway can make rules to suit .
  11. What were the (monetary) costs of Cardiff vs Manchester?
  12. Cheapest ticket was over £60 wasn't it?
  13. That’ll be no hope then, as they haven’t ā€œstuck to any gunsā€ since the beginning of this whole sorry saga. Agree about Osborne though.
  14. ...and Cardiff cost the organiser at least 4 times as much just on renting the stadium!!
  15. What was the average price per ticket? £50 or so? If it was, that's £575k in income... Not a bad little earner given no hiring of the venue needed. ..
  16. Tell me about it Iain I stopped going the year after Cradley brought Hamill over after that I forget about speedway until I started watching it again on tv the night Harris beat Greg in the final at Cardiff so you might well be right. In the SGP'S though he was such a good trapper most of the time he was out front, but that race his hand got caught in the mudguard he was incredibly lucky 9/10 it could have had his arm off but I think he got away with a broken finger/nuckle.
  17. I think Hancock did have quite a serious injury (an arm or a leg break), pretty early on in his career though... and didn't he have knee trouble and was one of the first to use the knee brace... memory is a bit hazy, it was a long time ago!
  18. I agree but feel Dickson will go with Justin Sedgmen
  19. So actually Manchester was bottom and bottom but one with 6k and 5.5k... quite the fall from Cardiff when even at its worst, would have come in 2nd.
  20. Come on let's face it the final is going to be Poland, Australia, Denmark & GB unless we have a mare then it'll be Sweden. That's why the 5 team format suited this competition so well and the reality is there's been no other contender nations come forward since the time the 5 team format was dropped, maybe Russia. This competition would be better run in a group format with the top team of each group being promoted with the bottom being relegated... imo
  21. why Geoff ?, the points limit was set for 3 years at last seasons AGM.
  22. Agree keeping grounded is important at such a young age. It's equally important us fans need to be patient with these lads, and not put pressure on them from the off. Hopefully they will be with us in years to come.
  23. And how many would shell out £20k plus to kit themselves out and then commit to being anywhere between Glasgow and Plymouth on any day of the week for £50 a point?
  24. I forgot his average but what average would Scott Nicholls be on again? Dream tail end would be Nicholls, Jenkins and Edwards @ 2, 6 & 7.
