  1. Past hour
  2. In response, Kyle said "I wish I could have been sat in the pits at a track in Poland, watching the racing for nothing, and actually being paid for being there"..... "I'll see if I can get myself a piece of that next time", he continued...
  3. Similar thing happened to Robert Lambert at Newcastle, I think he was maybe racing in an U21 meeting on the Saturday, wouldn't have gotten to Newcastle on time for the Sunday, so rode elsewhere - no facility allowed. When the Sunday match was postponed, they were allowed a facility because it was within 24 hours of his U21 meeting? Doesn't make sense to me as I'm typing it, but with Speedway's rules, I could be remembering correctly. 😬
  4. The 105 team places in the top two tiers must earn what? An average of £30k a rider? Given the standard runs from GP Superstar to NDL level... If so, that's over £3 Million paid out... Any troubleshooter coming into the sport, would immediately say... "Restructure your operating model to find a way to knock a million off your payroll and stick it into prize money and marketing"....
  5. Lions throwing Kyle Howarth under the bus on the website this morning... at least he turned up! "what wasn’t anticipated was a night of disaster for vice-captain Kyle Howarth, for so long a Sheffield rider." "Howarth was expected to be a trump card at reserve but everything went wrong for him as he failed to score from four rides" “Kyle had a few years here and he had a rough night with a crash too"
  6. This reminds me of when Miedzinski was withholding his services back in 2012, no guests were permitted until they rocked up at Lynn and were allowed one because he was actually riding elsewhere in an international meeting despite the fact he wouldn't have ridden anyway.
  7. You are wrong, both teams won't be happy, Ipswich threw away the bonus point, moan about the track but it is restricted by the stock car track and fans want to see success like last season, they are less worried about the quality of racing. Poole also get good crowds because of their success.
  8. Personally, I wouldn't allow any facility only the promotion of an affiliated junior
  9. if anything the racing is often better now than it was back then, during Lockdown the Save Oxford Speedway YouTube put up old matches from the 80s, 90s and 00's - despite the obvious nostalgia element the racing was not great alot of the time - Hans regularly cleared off to win by the length of the home straight!
  10. Quite agree. At least they used R/R and didn't borrow a rival's rider I guess.
  11. Surprised at the GoN reaction though, I think he's a pretty good appointment.
  12. Hardly one for the future Lewis Kerr... get these kids in, and when they lured by Poland, wave them goodbye I'm afraid
  13. Not only left without him but also losing and losing the bonus point... It really cannot be taken seriously as a sport while things like this continue to happen and are happening more frequently... but then we all know that already
  14. 100% not, just racing incidents 👍
  15. Massive downpour and thunder and lightening for a good hour, standing puddles everywhere but with the heat , the track should be dry very quickly I would assume.
  16. Not sure to what extent they "held" him, he never mounted a challenge ...
  17. It was pertinent that the SGP went ahead despite the heavy rain, of course did the conditions mean that Jack and Jason's crash happened, asking here as I don't watch the GPs this season and I am not paying for TNT. Coleman of course alluded to all of this in his comments in the wake of the Ips v Belle Vue match the other week.
  18. The 2nd jay cartmel memorial takes place at the GT tyres Northside arena on Saturday a 4 team tournament featuring 5 new to the country Scandinavian riders, some past and present Comets plus a few other riders. Get down and support the young kids memorial meeting 🏁🔵⚪😃
  19. Why would a newcomer to the sport be interested/bothered, unless the 'explainer' was being negative??
  20. Today
  21. I remember when Adam Ellis first rode for the Witches. In reaching a Final I posted about winning the £250k prize, and his dad got really excited ... until he realised the sarcasm of my comment.
  22. All that would do, is mean more guests being used, a guest who was already knocked out of the Cup! Need a squad system to avoid this "issue"
  23. Glasgow should be very relieved, Poole looked stronger without Bowes & Glasgow likely missing Howarth.
  24. To be fair Mike I think even 50k first prize would get things moving to a high degree, maybe Harry is working on something to that effect.
  25. The right answer depends on what the question is. If it's to sign someone who'll turn up every week then it is absolutely the right answer. It's a shame as I rate Dan Thompson, but what a sad state of affairs that he's sat in the pits without even getting a ride while his 'other' club, in his home country, are left without him. Another one where you'd never see a Pole in the same situation.
