  1. Past hour
  2. I just cannot believe how unlucky Lynn are. Fricke down on last season also Harris & Kvech. Cook also not consistent. Packo awful but now gone , we await what Jenkins can do however he’s had injuries so needs to be given time. Just can’t believe it’s down to Rushen and if he hadn’t hit the ground running where would they be. Scott is doing well in my opinion.
  3. why the criticism for a new venture in Northampton is beyond me....Lets look at some of the facts. The stadium is mainly built around cars, no cars equals no speedway, now if that means there are times when the track isn't up to it then that's the nature of the beast I'm afraid, far from ideal but unless you have a purpose built speedway facility then that's what the Foxes have too work with. The promoters were late to the party in terms of team building, it's not rocket science that the team isn't strong enough, take a look at the other side of the coin if the Foxes weren't in the league. Instead of fans getting on the backs of a new organisation who are willing to take a financial risk why not try and get behind them...then again if you listen to some on here speedway is already in the final throngs of existence and appear to thrive on that negative mentality.
  4. Even the basics of conducting interviews in front of the sponsorship board has lapsed, saw on interview with Klindt on Fox's socials last week with tractors in the background... unless they've picked up a vintage tractor sponsorship recently it's to hell with the league sponsors, who needs 'em! You'll often see many riders when being interviewed go and reach for their cap first before doing so, it's the first thing on their mind, for many British promoters it doesn't even seem to be in their minds at all. It's pretty basic stuff really 🤷‍♂️
  5. Ghostie - why on the SVEMO updated league table ( Serietabell) haven’t Smederna been given a bonus point for the 2 matches against Lejonen ?
  6. Iain's comments were very fair I would suggest, and given his opinion is based on facts, very relevant, and should be seen as constructive, especially given so many tracks seem to have lost the Quality Control that Phil Morris brought in.. To be honest, he came in and made changes that were, for me, quite embarrassing in their basic nature... Why Promoters needed some Quality Control checklist which included starting meetings on time, having the centre green tidied with the sponsors prmoinent, and riders ready for the next race as soon as the last one ended, was as low level as it could be... Never mind "grabbing the low hanging fruit" he was picking it up off the floor!!! Yet, this season, without him, we are seeing some of the "old ways" coming back.. Given the nature of the sport, incidents can easily happen which elongate the evening, therefore, starting on time has to be a given to ensure punters get home at a reasonable time... A new venture in particular should strive for excellence in everything it does, and all adverse feedback is often what it needs for longer term growth..
  7. Latest update from Nick: It's been a while! Myself and Stoney have had a bit of a breather and a holiday together along with our long suffering wives-that was fun. Back to it now thanks to everyone that has donated already, and those that are about to Myself and Stoney did an evening for Workington speedway supporters club on Saturday night, Q&A session and a few tales from back in the day! Great event that raised even more towards our goal, we are above £6000 now from Gofundme and collections. Thanks to you all
  8. How about Batchelor out and Pedersen in. Thought he looked very much on the pace last night and can only get better. Never ridden the track before either but easily won his first race.
  9. They could have done with Batch scoring earlier in the meeting!
  10. I think a lot will depend on who owns Fox's in 2027 if its the current promoters I would expect things to look similar to 2026 but Flagrag did also hint there was another interested party with serious resources if they came in the whole outlook would shift. The one positive is there does seem to be a hardcore crowd already established and the track is the right shape if someone sorts it out and clears the house bricks off it.
  11. Piraterna have said that the intention was to use Kolodinskis as they have previously but he is injured so their best option is to use RR for Ben Cook who they knew is not available this week when he signed the contract. ( could only happen in Sweden !!) Piraterna are hardly likely to alter their record of ridden 7 lost 7 Rospiggarna are as bad ridden 6 lost 6
  12. Spot on the legendary help that we knew wouldn't be coming unless the other promoters are willing to bung in an extra £5-£7k per meeting to get Anders Thompson or Dudek over.
  13. 9 hours on a train or on a motorway i know which i would prefer
  14. Today
  15. I'd be amazed if the SGP2 dates weren't known before the British fixtures were released but if that's the case then fair enough. Wouldn't have been too much of a leap to think that Cairns & Rushen might be involved.
  16. They are though... they started the season off as another Birmingham and have continued in the same vein, the only difference is they don't have the axe hanging over their stadium.
  17. Not sure how they would do that when it is dry and sunny tomorrow. Anyway shame really as not an easy fixture to rearrange.
  18. I understand Plymouth's Bar Bandits travelled up 35-strong by this train to the league match late last season. Said it was a great trip -- the buffet car ran out of beer before Derby! It seems a train trip for the Cup Final might be the way to do it ....
  19. Good contribution from him and a decent hold on for the win, as others have said I think Northampton need a home win to get the interest back - we don't want them to be another Birmingham! My Sheffield supporting mate and I are planning to go when the Tigers are in town next!
  20. I'm trying really hard to be optimistic, I really am but I'm struggling to see how we win this bearing in mind Fricke's form currently and no Cooper at reserve. Add to that Cook's discomfort round Lynn and I think Ipswich have to start as favourites if only slightly. The podcast are sponsoring the Rider of the Night and I really hope we are spoiled for choice on who to pick 😁
  21. Amazingly there is a cross country train that goes DIRECT. It does take 9 hours though. And for a random Saturday (and Sunday return) it quotes a quite reasonable £112 (before railcard)
  22. It must be said Oxford did run when the first England game against Croatia was started at 9:00PM & the crowd was very poor. Oxford promotion have at least been honest with their reasons, it would be very easy to hide behind an adverse weather forecast. It will be interesting to see how many speedway events are shelved if the national football team progress further.
