  3. A fair call... I don't remember PC needing leading link forks, a lay down engine, electric ignition timings, nor a lap top in the pits, to make a Speedway bike "sing".. If BZ got some "Pride" coloured handlebars with matching mudguards, every NDL rider in the land would buy the same, thinking that was "the secret" to his success... It is too small a sport to move onwards and onwards with technology, to gain a (whatever?), as it can only restrict participation due to costs... Dan T's VLOG is fantastic (clubs please take note), and his workshop must have thousands of pounds of spares in it... Hence clubs then need to pay riders enough to afford all this equipment... And, in the UK, to achieve what exactly?....
  4. Soon to have a better reserve pairing than Poole 🤭 Redcar have been a tough team to judge this year, missing a "2nd heat leader" but great reserves
  5. Today
  6. Rowe sitting in the pits at Wroclaw last night?he was named at No8.
  7. I don't think any rider resigns, not normally their choice.
  8. The general ineptitude that pervades speedway organisational levels seems well in play here. If the goal of qualifying was to determine the best 15 riders, why would you stack 4 of the 5 top SGP2 (2025 Finals) riders, now with a years more experience, in the one round at Pardubice? Tough draw for the rest of the field, who are right up against the odds here. Similar thing happened earlier this year in the Challenge Quals as well, lopsided events. I realize there would be a draw involved but surely it would make more sense if the higher ranked riders were spread across the qualifiers rather than put in the same one.
  9. As long as he resigns for the pilots on his current 5 point average 😜
  10. Not negative, realistic. We should have got at least a 10 point lead wednesday and would have without bad luck but that happens in sport and we would have with Lawson.
  11. Come on Berwick. Would love to see them in the final. Need to make a good start and put Poole under pressure from the off.
  12. Scrap that, now 25th July. Taken from Facebook MEETING NEWS The next Mildenhall Speedway meeting at West Row will now be on Saturday July 25th with the staging of the inaugural ‘Racing In The East’ NORA Pairs Championship. The meeting scheduled for 4th July was to be a standalone challenge match vs Cradley but with a range of circumstances to consider following a disappointing crowd in the last meeting, this has led to a decision not to run against the football World Cup tournament likely to keep fans away and instead prepare for the big event later this month. Six pairs will be competing with Kent Eagles and Peterborough Panthers already confirmed as sending pairs to compete in this NORA national championship event. Supporters Community Trust chairperson Kieran Phillips spoke of the cancellation of the Cradley meeting. “It’s obviously disappointing to have to cancel next weekend but we have to accept (as very many others across the land looking to organise events during the period of the FIFA World Cup are doing likewise) that going up against the televised football with two major knock out round games effectively clashing with our meeting time, this would be a very risky thing to do. And with us already facing some financial jeopardy after a very disappointing attendance last time means we will not take that risk. “We are looking for our Trust members and loyal supporters to step up and for our appeal for a main team sponsor to provide the backing we need; and on top of that, our attentions are fully on promoting what is going to be a hugely memorable meeting on July 25th”.
  13. What actually happened there - it makes little sense. Poole definitely didn't benefit from Lawson being missing. Why did he miss the meeting in Denmark though an injury which doesn't seem serious at all (rode in England on both Monday and Thursday and looked fine around quite a tricky Ipswich track). If he wasn't injured, then why not ride for Poole on Wednesday? All very weird!
  14. No it doesn’t. in “other sports” a squad system is utilised. Such squads are made up of multiples of the required number I.e Football - 11 on the squad of 23or 25 and another 20 or so full time “juniors”. However, speedway has never been able to work an affordable and competitive squad system. Just to say, whilst I think RR is an acceptable solution for a missing rider, Guests are not, neither is doubling up between Championship and Premier clubs. That said, I remain hopeful that in the not too distant future, a group of professional like minded promoters will, together, begin to influence the much needed change required for UK speedway.
  15. Expect Poole to go through. Lambert getting more points than Cairns would get and having Lawson riding being the difference.
  16. The goal should be signing riders and nurturing them into top stars. If ALL clubs attempted this we wouldn’t have the yearly scramble for riders suitable for heat fifteen. The utopia would be to get to a point where teams didn’t need to be constantly raided to bolster other clubs and this would also allow fans to build up a stronger affinity with “their” riders. Generally riders that have come through the ranks in the UK stick around even when reaching GP stardom and the pull through from world exposure can only be a good thing at domestic level. Just looking at my team over the last few years we have seen several riders doing just that. Brady Kurtz 7.50 Max Fricke 4.50 Jaimon Lidsey 4.00 Dan Bewley 3.00 Tom Brennan last pick RS
  17. 45-45 Stop all this negativity, can see a full team performance.
  18. I agree but with advice from Lawson with set up, he will be ok after a race and perform like we know he can, he was unlucky to get excluded on Wednesday but as he will get an extra ride from R/ R he will need to be at his best. Lawson missing at home was a massive miss with Harris performing so poorly and then disappointingly on fire for BV at Ipswich.
  19. Got to admit Berwick are clear favourites here after Wednesdays inexplicably poor performance. Stupid dropped points, a lack of interest from certain riders and no Lawson probably cost us a place in the final. With Jenkins at reserve and likely to take 7 rides, it will be a surprise if we manage to get through, especially as we are missing Will Cairns and Rushen has never been there. Excuses done.
  20. Sharing out the Polish top league riders, and Doyle, would possibly mean two second div teams could be enticed to join the top league... Flexibility will be needed with race nights to accommodate the two obvious ones... Personally, I would run five rider teams in the top tier, all riders over four points, one home and one away, and then run another competition that all the top tier teams take part in but at a significantly lower standard without the top names... An "Elite League", (no guests), and (like we have two of now), a "Make it up as you go along" big league, with one home and one away, with some Cup Competition, BSN? that the tier one clubs won't be in due to their own league being ran.. And try then to sell the Elite League to TV...
