  2. And that's a "negotiated down" contract..... You can see why the UK doesn't hold too much appeal for these lads and, for those it does, you can see why they say "how high" when their Polish paymasters say "jump!"... That contract, at just six points a match (£12k), is worth well over £400k a season... Add a few decent sponsors, and throw in Sweden and Denmark, and not a bad return is it?
  3. Presumably from now on everyone will go for the 'family emergency' option.
  4. Also.. that's insane considering 10 would have been Prem.
  5. I'm not sure you speak for 36 mil poles anymore than I speak for 65 million britons, I've found the Ukrainians in the UK to be decent people on the whole I'm sure there are 5-10% that are unpleasant the same for virtually all races on planet earth. The fact they are fighting tooth and nail to stop the aggressor speaks volumes, most of the other old Soviet block countries left as soon as they could and have zero desire to return to the Russian boot s, if Russia gets all of Ukraine they will simply use Ukrainians to attack somewhere like Poland or Romania next. And I have no issue with Emil or any other Russians riders being let back into Speedway GP. I would imagine 90% of Russians want this war to end and just have a quite life but that's not happening whilst a hundred odd old men from the KGB are running things.
  6. It's a catch 22. With riders injured at the last minute would fans prefer a last minute cancellation or for a meeting to go ahead with guests? What about sponsors or hospitality guests? Catering that has been arranged? It is bad enough with rain offs but adding more call offs will soon become problematic. Finding a better system than guests is the only way forward but is a challenge in itself.

  9. There are very clearly a number of NIMBY falsehoods that the speedway campaign needs to meet head on with real world examples from other existing speedway tracks.
  10. Does that mean a 7 day ban then or is it a”family emergency “ or is he injured?
  11. We hear this every season about these riders that will be available next season on a”bargain average”.Not many come to fruition though the next season.IMO
  12. Well he’s accompanied by the promoter at virtually all meetings home and away so they must believe in him.
  13. Something gives me the feeling that we won't be getting near 45 points at NSS again if we return for the play offs, and then it will all rely on Foxhall and depending on the difference, it could be a chaotic meeting.
  14. Are you actually reading the whole point of my posts or just choosing to ignore it? I don't care if you like or dislike Ukraine, everyone has a choice. The point is this... Ukraine don't get blocked from speedway but Russia does, but both are equally involved in the politics. Me personally, I believe Russia and Ukraine riders should be in any sport... because politics doesn't have a place in sport, IMO. If it did, then surely Bewley and Lambert should be out of the GP as God knows we love to stick our noses into every 'war' along with USA that goes.
  15. Will probably be Magic, Tungate, and maybe Kidermand 2 if he's going ok. Busy night for Killer either way i think.
  16. It wasn't IMG/BSI who took the financial risk going to New Zealand and the 2002 Australian GP, but the local promoters as far as I remember. How did the GP actually benefit the sport in these countries? I didn't see any particularly increased media coverage, nor any evidence of increased domestic audiences - then or now. I seem to remember the attendances - at least for some of the Antipodean GPs - were relatively decent but nowhere near enough to make the events viable in the stadiums they were being held in. I think part of the problem was that after the initial novelty wore off, the crowds never picked up...
  17. Meeting starts at 2.15pm UK time. Latvia have pulled out leaving 7 pairs Ukraine 1, 2, 15 Czech Rep 3, 4, 16 Poland 5, 6, 17 Sweden 7, 8, 18 Germany 9, 10, 19 GB 11, 12, 20 Denmark 13, 14, 21
  18. Think he lost a load of weight when he was at Edinburgh and was going well for them then got injured. Shame really as mentioned he came over and showed up really well for Mildenhall.
  19. We failed badly as a team getting beat by Lynn in the cup semi, that’s why I am personally not feeling over confident.
  20. Thanks for the reminder I'd forgotten Lion stream their meetings I'll be watching tonight.
  21. Dackarna have replaced injured riders Rasmus Jensen and Jakobsen with Zengota and Szczepaniak
