  1. Past hour
  2. Oxford has always been the priority, Berwick is/has merely been Oxford B However it is besides the point right now really, I’d rather see Oxford continue on and have them running, it would be another devastating blow to British Speedway if they can no longer run.
  3. I may be alone in this but I suspect other Berwick supporters may feel similarly, rearranging Berwick fixtures to suit Oxford doesn’t sit particularly well. I hope this isn’t an indication as to who the priority is.
  4. Its the right decision but way too late after advertising tickets etc for the last 3 days
  5. These sort of negotiations tend to linger on and if so have a damning effect on the fixtures
  6. I think, to be fair, when a rider isn't aware of such a significant change then the comms. process probably needs looking at.... In my old job employment law changed almost weekly, so I got notified of the updates ongoing, meaning I would follow the "new rules" when making decisions... I wasn't expected to read the whole employment law each year to pick out the changes.. The BSP put out their operating model changes from their AGM, therefore maybe the ACU should do the same?
  7. That’s put the tin hat on their venture. Come in on a gentle wind and gone out like a hurricane
  8. Full statement for anyone unable to see: "🗞️ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗢𝘅𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝘅𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗵𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 “You will be aware that over the weekend there have been a series of meetings following the termination of the deal between SIS and Oxford Greyhounds to stream racing from the BetGoodwin Stadium. “Inevitably that decision and subsequent ongoing negotiations impact on Oxford Speedway and I can confirm that Wednesday’s BSN Series meeting between the Cheetahs and Plymouth will not go ahead. “We will, however, travel to The Coliseum on Saturday night to face the Gladiators with the visit of Poole next Wednesday opening the official home season at the BetGoodwin Stadium. “Plymouth – and I must thank Mark Phillips for his understanding and co-operation on this – will now visit Cowley on April 22 to compete the BSN Southern Section fixtures – a date Berwick were due to travel south to fulfil a Championship fixture on. “That fixture will be re-arranged for later in the season. “With complex and involved negotiations between a number of stakeholders, including ourselves, on-going and the added inconvenience of a double Bank Holiday I did not feel it was possible to run Wednesday’s meeting. “I firmly believe that it is short-term inconvenience which will have long-term and far-reaching benefits for Oxford Speedway and Oxford Stadium. “British Speedway Promoters Ltd and the Speedway Control Bureau have been kept updated regarding the situation, as has Oxford Greyhounds. “I know there has been much online speculation and a lot of misinformation posted “as fact”. “We will keep our loyal supporters and sponsors updated via the club’s official channels.” Jamie Courtney, 7 April, 2026 #OxfordSpeedway | #BritishSpeedway🇬🇧"
  9. Complex negotiations are ongoing Fingers crossed for a success resolution
  10. Statement from Oxford to say Wednesdays home fixture is now off but they will still travel to Plymouth.

  12. Today
  13. I think despite what fans say he will be his own biggest critic.
  14. Be surprised if Perry was getting 3-4 points a meeting.
  15. I agree, but we’re just the paying public so if you don’t like don’t come along simple…..🤦‍♂️
  16. Plenty of sheep there so take your barbecue and enjoy
  17. Congratulations to Mark and the whole team at Plymouth who obtained a notable achievement on Saturday by having a record attendance for over 10 years in the defeat against the Pirates. Fantastic for a sport that needs positive news stories to see a club going in the right direction and the swell of momentum behind the club within Plymouth. It's fantastic to see and long may it continue.
  18. Drive in and sit in your car between races... You could sit on the bonnet and stay warm during the race too, before getting back into a heated car....... Buxton is "rustic" and delivers what it does... Great to have it back....
  19. Similar to English football circa 92... Butchers, Bakers and Candlestick makers all ran clubs... Then Sky came in and "Chief Execs" also came in and the Premier League was born with an independent leader, (agreed, and paid for, by the clubs).. People with the skill set required to move the whole entity forwards... Well meaning amateurs soon disappeared... UK Speedway truly is "prime" for relaunch given its tiny following. (20k a week?), with just another 500 at the remaining tracks giving a huge % increase... Did I read it was now the 16th best supported sport in the UK?? What an opportunity for growth....
  20. This site is a a microcosm of the running of the sport as a whole. Anyone who brings up an issue by a club whether that be poor racing/track prep, running outside the rule book or poaching riders, to give a few examples, immediately gets berated by home fans who’s desire to back their team trumps the greater needs of the sport as a whole. The most irritating thing is the very issue they are defending soon becomes wrong when another team do it. This yo yoing of morals is indefensible in my eyes and renders any point of view they have, moot due the biased nature from where it is comes from. “It’s ok for me and my mates to do these things but not you, especially if it gives us an edge.”This is not only where we are now but also where we have been for years and the reason good people have walked away from the sport. We don’t aspire to match the best but prefer to pull the rug from under them. The current pushback has already started and I fully expect it to succeed.
  21. Would tend to agree, also being back up by Generous Supporter Club Donations by loyal speedway fans. problem being if they decide they have had enough it’s hard to say where the sport will end up.Most of said Promotions are knocking on in years.
  22. Yes, but don't let that get in the way of all the potty-posters in here, Speedy!
  23. Yes that is exactly the clip I had seen, it looked horrific. I think the only way to avoid that exact scenario is banning pit entrances on corners. Easier said then done though. As a matter of rider protection I think any fence lifting is a huge issue. It’s never going to be a safe sport but more needs to be done to mitigate risk.
  24. I more imagined flush or recessed eyelets secured by very short strapping or clips but I understand what you’re saying. It’s would be trial and error to start with as I don’t think the money exists to do development that isn’t on a live track.
