Best rider/s for coming from the back.
Gert Handbag replied to Youhave2minutes's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Any Cradley fan will tell you they loved Jan'O. But Big Al Grahame and Phil Collins were a great pairing. At that time Phil was king from the back around Dudley Wood. -
Fixtures on Facebook.

And an engine worthy of a GP rider at around £12K I may be wrong tho..

I can remember Jan'O guesting for Lynn a couple of times maybe 1-2 years before he was world champion missed the gate every time but still smashed the opposition, can't remember much about Phil Collins although he was riding the time I used to go 85-93 so that's high praise indeed if you rated him better than the tiny dane. -
Bonkers isn't it what a way to have to run a business.
-
British Speedway has entered its "summer shutdown" which runs from May to August 😎
-
I don't particularly agree with it either but I suspect its to improve the chances of home wins and keeping the crowds viable. There's certainly no chance of winning the league. As has been said the limit is too high which doesn't help those who need time to develop.
-
Does anyone with Lawson? I just think it gives King an easy 3pts there which Nicholls could cover - heat 14 often has a tactical change or added pressure, maybe that's what they're trying to avoid.
-
Lawson and King don't ride well together. Also, King has proved to be good cover for Heat 8.
-
the team limit is simply set too high this year, cant really blame kings lynn for wanting to strengthen up, but still miles behind some teams in the league this year.
-
Should have got longer ban IMO.Totally Unexceptable .

Great entertainment.Never fails.

Slightly off topic, but I remember years ago watching Thomasz Gollob at Wolverhampton when he was racing for Ipswich - he came out of turn 2 for the first time at the back and was so angry by it that he yanked his cutout off and walked back to the pits, left his bike on the center green. Was magnificent to watch 😆

The Sprint Race Debate
IainB replied to False dawn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm not totally against the idea just the way in which they've decided to organise it currently. It's all a bit too slap dash to me, timing doesn't start until the pit gate closes, no timer Countdown shown on screen, lap times take about 10 seconds to appear, if they appear at all. I like the head to head aspect of it, it being almost held behind closed doors is not good. It could be so much more with a bit of thought and effort. Maybe a serious of 1 lap head to head dashes from the gate, culminating in a 4 rider 1 lap dash to finish? At the moment there's nothing "sprint" about it. -

I would say in the Cradley days, Phil Collins was even better than Jan O.
