What about Northampton?
oleoleole replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Apologies if this has been mentioned before but the University of Northampton have a large media centre. They have been Northampton Town’s sponsor for many years and work closely with the Club so there must be a possibility of a relationship there. -
Well looking at her she well below average
-
Or not for the admission price on offer..
-
Are you sure they come in under 37.00. And what is JHB's assessed average?
-
I think it would be a backward step to not have a media day and it would probably be beneficial for the other two leagues to do one too.
-
And the interest wasn't too great to start with sadly...
-
The media day will have all the riders in their race suits sat on rows of pallets at belle vue and on the end there will be 7 life size cardboard cut outs of riders like Dag Lovas, ove fundin, trond stretting lars munkerdal Glenn Doyle, Das sumner and Edgar stangerland who will be representing Brafield badgers this season only they couldn’t find the Glenn Doyle one so they got a Julie Hartley brewer one hoping nobody would notice

Surely what this says is that the product was not attractive enough to entice any of the extras back... -
Surprise!!!!!!!! One off gestures don't work... A free meeting needs to be part of a larger enticement programme with gradual imcreases.. Eg next four meetings for a tenner each, next two for fifteen, next two twenty, then full price... With constant communication and feedback sought during this period, from those who are using the discounted tickets.... "Build it and they will come" only works in movies... The sport desperately needs people who can market and engage..

Sensible thinking to be honest , I personally wish he had retired as he's had some really bad knocks in recent seasons but only he can decide on that, if he's not looking to take to much on I wonder if he will just focus on Poland this year is he still riding in their top league ? -
For a media day to happen someone has to organise the event and get in touch with various organisations to be available. But going by what has or has not happened over winter, it looks like them in charge of British speedway haven't got a clue, so probably won't be a media day
-
Really? Maybe @IanBrannan can clarify? Regarding media day, i watched all the instagram live footage that each team did, even though i dont support any of those teams. It was pretty funny tbf!
-
That’s understandable. I think a lot of interest in the sport overall has been lost now what with the sh*t show that this winter has produced.
-
Very good question. My opinion, probably valueless, is he’d struggle to qualify for either. He’s opted out of the top two leagues in Poland and, unless there are changes, looks unlikely to race in England so he’s unlikely to be as competitive as he once was. Places for the qualifiers will be limited - is it SCB that makes the nominations? - so I’d guess that nominations will be based on future prospects rather than past endeavours
-
I stopped listening to it midway through last year. It was actually very good and very well put together, I just lost interest in it to be honest.

Says not ready yet for GP's level, not wanting to do too much, too soon. -
I don't think the official British speedway podcast will be running this year
