Teams are built at the start of the year within the points limit, but more importantly are built to come within a budget, Don't know if you've noticed but our crowds could be a lot better, unless your gonna put your hand in your pocket to help out the promotion. Just be thankful we have speedway to watch at which is probably the best race track and viewing in the country 😀. I was at Poole last night they had a crowd of 1500 - 1800 so they can afford the best riders

In the Richard Coleman YT interview he mentioned how difficult it had been for Mark Lemon to put a team together... Quite an incredible scenario in reality isn't it?...😁 Sometimes, the lack of outside media interest, and therefore scrutiny, isn't the worst thing in the world...😁

You must have some rose tinted goggles on. I haven't missed a home meeting since we started back up 3 years ago. Recently, the numbers have been down. There's three types of real fans - some who attend for the love of the racing, some who attend wanting their team to win, and some who are both. Constantly losing at home will soon have a negative impact on the numbers coming through the gate. Thats true for all sports.

Dipping into the foreign market works but it has to be done wisely. No one could've predicted Jakobsen would have flopped as much as he has. Doing so has put a lot of pressure on Vinnie, who really could have done with the season spent as reserve. It worked two seasons ago when we brought in Tate and Antti but this season it wasn't meant to be. Dropping Antti was the right choice for me, at the time - we needed strength home and away. With the team we had, on paper, we should have been winning at home and competing strongly away. Unfortunately, Cookies antics put a stop to any hope we all had

Yeah they’re all good points mate. It showed with Batchelor on Saturday, it was evident to everyone you needed to be on that outside line and for someone with all his experience, he elected to stick to the curb. Your home track needs to be an absolute fortress. But, it doesn’t help when it seems every rider licks there lips when they’re visit 😂 I’m 50/50 with vuolas, no doubting him at home he’s reliable around northside, but away he looked like an amateur at times. It doesn’t help his average is inflated with how consistent he was at home. Vinnie is out of his depth at number 2, which I know is a hard number to ride at, but we’re basically running with 3 reserves and long in the tail which is what seems to have been the recurring theme for the last 3 season.

Can't see it happening tbf, when Doyle became available to ride in the UK Ipswich weren't prepared to have him back in the team as it ment they'd have to make 3 changes to the team to fit Doyle in, well that's what Paul Hurry said apparently.

What happens if Ipswich come in and offer him a deal to the end of the season?

Doyle will just sign on for another month, he wont be available until Bewley is fit to return.

I think that is probably true yeah, but it can go the other way and management/officials could be like Keith Denham and upset people and drive people away from attending too. You could say Redcar, Scunthorpe, maybe Edinburgh are ran the same way as Workington too. Another thought I had is that I don’t buy that there is no home advantage either. Klindt has shown what a true home advantage would look like on the track. You just need fast riders, which obviously comes at a price. That’s why Belle Vue have such a home advantage around a similar track. Batchelor has been good for the Comets and his gating is elite at home, but he is simply not suited to the track. Think Nicholls at Belle Vue. IMO, I would be looking at bringing Antti Vuolas back next year, and fellow riders suited to our track. Yes we might struggle away the odd time but I think you need to be strong at home more importantly.

You listen to rider interviews etc and they all say the same thing, there’s no pressure to perform as long as the effort is there. For me, you could have the 7 best riders in the world but it seems it’s the mentality of the management of the club which is the root cause of the issue. It’s a case of wanting to be mates rather than manage the team. Can’t imagine the manager really inspires the team or gives them a kick up the rear end when they’re having shockers. No matter what sport, if there’s no winning mentality then what’s the point?

Spot on its telling that most on here desperately want the support to succeed but I would guess 90% of us no longer attend and I must admit even if I had a track close to me it would take a lot to tempt me back even though I still love the game. The last four races from the world team cup where Poland pipped us in the last race were everything the sport can be brilliant racing, all four nations still in with a shout going into the last four races and the place going mental in the final heat brilliant stuff.

Even when I started going in the mid 80's every winter 2-3 clubs would be on life support but some semi rich fan would step up and keep the club going for 2-3 years before rinse and repeat. I had stopped going by the time Sky stepped in and as many have said it was a huge opportunity missed for a reset but the promoters let the number one's hoover up all the golden eggs. From my time following the sport 84-93 in truth I'm amazed it has still survived to present day , I think as others have said probably the only chance of survival moving forward is to become a feeder ground for Poland.

Dwindling support? Definitely not, we see some of the best speedway in the country, in what is the best and most competitive league!

You always expect a slight drop off in attendance when you live stream. However, I have heard that they are pleased with the result when you add the attendance to the number paying for the live stream which I assume means the combined number is greater than just the number coming through the gate previously.

Think they're missing out there. Richard Coleman said the stats for the Ipswich steam show it's people well outside Ipswich who subscribe, plus those not fit enough to attend any more.
