  1. Past hour
  2. On another thread its reported that the Plymouth promoter has said its been postponed. He might need a delay to get a new air fence financed.
  3. I always hoped when the asset system disappeared, it would be easier for Brits to get team places? You could spend a lot of money flying an Aussie over, or spend time & effort sorting out a visa for a European, they can be poor meaning a waste of time or good & leave to go to another club. In theory the likes of Alfie Bowtell, Ben Morley, Danyon Hume (when fit) should get team spots every year? It wasn't that long ago Dan Thompson started without a Champ team.
  4. They will need to discuss the new Polish league rider requirements, the rumoured ‘demand’ for an 8 team Premiership , with a doubt over Sheffield and a possible Eastbourne return . The supposed doing away with the NDL ( 😢 ) and then place what’s left in a championship that can be decided by a referees announcement it seems 🤷‍♂️.
  5. Today
  6. As it’s not for sale so that can’t happen and I understand that the current owners would never ever sell to Mr. Rathbone. The track man has left so you have your wish there , both Terry the Track and Jonathan Swales were in the pits but I don’t see any change in management as Jamie Swales will still have a say in matters but the delay in naming the new co promoter ( my 50p is still on George ) is a little baffling.
  7. "Sign Jason Doyle, Win Titles", seems to be the mantra to follow..
  8. Birmingham had to sign riders knowing they would not be riding a full season, and on made up averages to make them look competitive... Since Sky pulled out its been a constant falling off, with doubling up, and Guestfests, becoming the default mechanic to use... There is so little prestige in winning the top tier, both Oxford and Poole decided to ride in the second division, as it more suited their business model.. A sport where you can choose which level to compete in? An interesting concept!!! Over the past few years, five teams seems to have become the maximum that the UK can adequately ensure all are competitive... And as for winning the title? Bald men fighting over a comb just about sums up the last decade or so... With this season being pretty much on par with the others of recent times...
  9. I'm sure a few years back Redcar put an extra £1 or £2 on the admission to pay for an air fence, then once it was paid off, the entrance fees went down, could this be a possibility to make up any shortfall / pay back a SRBF loan?
  10. This should stop testimonials for the riders though (not benefit meetings). When you are declaring yourself as self employed and the clubs get nothing from you moving to another club, then you should give up your right to a testimonial (surely cannot have it both ways).
  11. Tom Brennan will leave Västervik and move to a new team in Sweden.
  12. I don’t think you can blame the lad that much, he’s rode for the club for 3 years which is a reasonable length of time and wants to move on. If he had slagged the club off or left mid way through a season I could maybe understand some anger but he’s within his rights to decide where he wants to ride
  13. He clearly meant he wasn't enjoying his speedway at the start of 2026 and coming to BV gave him his enjoyment back. Clearly nothing to do with his time at Ipswich. We ha e enjoyed having him as much as he enjoyed being here. Got to have a chat with him Friday night in the Craven suite, throughly nice guy, world class rider and great servant to British Speedway.
  14. Disappointed about tate 😕 but not so much about drew
  15. Suns shinning that's good news @geoff100🤣🤣
  16. I do not know who the rider is, all I know is that the club have asked sponsors how much they can put into the club to try to tempt a GP rider to join
  17. It looks like the promoters know and it's them that make the signings.
  18. Drew back to berwick aswell hope we can have some good news soon .
  19. Typically classless from you, you may want to consider that these" forum fannies " probably, unlike you, post money across a turnstile and support Berwick Speedway in a very real way. That, IMO, entitles them to their opinion, even if I disagree with it. As for Jye`s comments, he can say want he wants, though he may want to consider he is slagging off those who go to paying his wages. Sometimes if you have nothing decent to say its best to say nothing and do you talking on the track.
  20. Posted on social media by Workington Speedway. This weekend, Tate Zischke has informed the promotion of his desire to ride elsewhere in the 2027 campaign. Despite every effort to retain Tate, we sadly accept his decision to leave the Comets following 3 seasons with the club. Tate joined the side in 2024 and has continually improved season by season, we wish him well for upcoming seasons and future events.
  21. Shame Tates time as a comet has come to an end. He’ll probably be looking to get a team place in Poland next season, and if it is the 2nd division, they mainly race Saturdays so that could be in his thinking too. All the best for the future.
  22. You never changed jobs before? Known of anyone doing an apprenticeship with a company and then leaving? 3 years is a lot more than some clubs would've gotten.
  23. Remember the winter of discontent in 2010, when Coventry and Peterborough threatened to walk out? After we'd just had a 9-team, 32 meeting, Elite League season. We didn't know what we had...
  24. So u take a punt on a lad bring him half way round the world look after him for 3 years and he can up sticks and say am off and u get nothing for it,andrew must be thinking why bother, expect to see cammi with a big smile soon and someones big wallet a back off hin.
