  1. Past hour
  2. Me and the Mrs have noticed this a lot this season, other riders seem to be extra hard on lebedevs, like he isn’t popular or something
  3. Yeah, the stuff with Oxford last season was mainly to do with the Vinnie Foord/ Jody Scott incident. I'd be interested to know if they had a better experience this season or not. I did wonder if it was to do with the H14 exclusion or if it happened during the whole meeting?
  4. Got a bit heated between him and Lebedevs in the pits, I wouldn't fancy fighting Lebedevs, handy looking lad.
  5. When you see dan Thompsons father having words with someone in the crowd then there is definitely something amiss,he's one of the nicest easy going blokes you could wish to meet it would take alot for him to lose his rag. Maybe just Maybe there's some truth in what's being said it's not the 1st time this sort of thing has occurred at Poole is it? I recall similar things last season when Oxford were at Wimborne Road No smoke without fire.
  6. Latest... “Poole fans gave our riders, officials and mechanics so much verbal abuse last Wednesday. Now it’s our turn to make Ashfield a wall of noise. “Dayle Wood received a great deal of abuse for some reason and I had disgusting insults hurled at me about my wife. She was also subjected to dreadful abuse in our league fixture at Poole. “Other riders and mechanics were also sworn at in a dreadful manner. “This all happened next to the pits. The clerk of the course was aware of the abuse. We have also sent a letter of complaint to the Speedway Control Bureau. “Any Poole fan or official who dismisses this should be ashamed of themselves. This shouldn’t be happening in speedway. “Fans from other clubs, and even some Poole fans, have commented and got in touch saying they have suffered from the same vile abuse. It needs to be stamped out. “Poole have an outstanding record in the sport but this really tarnishes the reputation of a great club.” https://glasgowtigers.co.uk/brown-turn-up-the-noise/ Maybe the Poole management need to make a statement as everything from Glasgow atm, so would be good to hear from them about what they are planning to do.
  7. Can someone call Phil morris please the track is way to dry, we covered in dust and we on the straight
  8. Well,I'm a moron and you talk nonsense🤣🤣🤣
  9. He also said we had a chance of winning the league
  10. Today
  11. Also for Gorzów v Częstochowa: https://vk.com.ru/video-81427162_456239750 https://vk.com/video-53550004_456242412
  12. I probably disagree with a lot that has been written on here - Seem to recall the best riders available riding in the U.K. when Sky were the paymasters. Tended to think that the U.K. business model has been for promoters to run speedway not because it was seen as sport but simply as a way of making money. Consequently I think business tended to give speedway a wide berth over the years as the people involved were let’s say ‘in it for themselves’. We are now down to the enthusiast promoters who are in it for the sport and not the money. In some respects the arrival of Woffinden Lambert and Bewley is probably 20 years too late to have an impact in U.K. terms. Poland has always been different go back to the 70’s and 80’s and they would get 40,000 at test matches - their league was football like in support and always has been but their rider quality wasn’t up to U.K. standard until the fall of Soviet Union and free enterprise took over. They were destined to become the power in speedway with that kind of support. Sweden saw a renaissance when Tony Rickardson appeared and their club sides signed the best riders available. Sadly time has caught up and their strong tradition of developing riders has virtually gone. Clubs went bust and crowds disappeared. Denmark could be similar - when Ole Olsen became world champion they expanded their league and produced some of the finest talent. They are still a strong nation but like Sweden are finding it difficult to attract youngsters to the sport - golf is the new favourite. I am now 2 hours drive away to the nearest track when 10 years ago there were at least 5 within an hour. Times change it’s a sad situation now.
  13. We should really try and do it over here shouldn't we? Nothing to lose...
  14. £8.14 to get in Gorzow tonight, just tucking in to my polish sausage, loving the build up, crowd buzzing, bikes warming up in background, jeez there truly is nothing like speedway when it’s done right
  15. Berwick would have raced against Workington on June 28th. Unfortunately Workington were suspended on June 27th (the day before the meeting).
  16. The weather can play a huge role also. Just seen the forecast for the next few weeks, and meteorological Autumn starts with low pressure and plenty of wet stuff around. We saw how much of a lottery the final was a couple of seasons ago at Sheffield in farcical conditions. Any favourites on paper would go right out of the window, it would simply be a case of who handles the conditions better. Lets hope the weather doesn’t spoil things..
  17. Some heavy showers dotted around locally, but the main problem would be the very gusty winds , Northside is very exposed and the direction the wind was coming, would be blowing from turn 3/4 right down the center green to turn 1/2 reported gusts mid afternoon at 45 mph, average 25 mph this would not be good for the riders or the fans. Dammed if you do dammed if you don't
  18. Pressure all on the Witches given you don't get many opportunities to build a team so much over the limit... (Great planning by the way)... One injury to either of their top two will destroy them though given the guest replacements from the bottom three teams... And RR would by a huge risk given the "engine room" can go missing... Leicester still the dark horses for me, with Sheffield's home track advantage (so many seem to hate the place), could also prove decisive. The Aces top three need almost four perfect meetings for them to have a chance given their bottom four are miles out of their depth at the highest, play off, level... If Fricke stays fit, Leicester to win...
  19. I might bed Sydney Sweeney as well.
  20. Sheffield might well finish top yet ?
  21. Clubs losing money need to seriously look in the mirror, Plymouth who are hardly world beaters and have a very limited track and space have upped their crowds considerably by the looks of it through some savvy work on social media etc. Granted in some cases things can’t be avoided but I absolutely think there would be a lot to be said for promotions being less insular and less of the ‘woe is me’ attitude.
