  1. Past hour
  2. Funnily enough this was in the last Oxford programme [26/4 Chargers v Middlesbrough] Go back a decade and a list of the top British teens would have been headed by Robert Lambert and Adam Ellis. While they are making their mark in the international speedway world, others, notably Josh Bates, Max Clegg, Zach Wajtknecht, Liam Carr and James Shanes – have faded from view. [Wajtknecht is World Long Track Champion and Shanes still appears on NORA tracks.] No matter how well structured youth progression is (and it could be better), there will always be a high attrition rate. Let’s hope many of today’s talented teens are still in action in a decade’s time.
  3. Whilst I take your point on Klindt, Batchelor's scores have been 7+1, 3+1, 5+1, and 9, all away from home, and 5 at home. I'm wondering what you're expecting from a 4.73 averaged rider?
  4. Very rare a motorcycle racer will be out for 3 months with a broken collarbone. Moto GP racers have ridden the same weekend they have done the break. Would be surprised if he’s out for more than 6 weeks if it’s a straight break with no complications
  5. With Zagar damaging his ankle yesterday he’s going g to be out for quite a few weeks, so maybe we might see a new face (or old returning face) in the Foxes line up in the coming meetings as can’t continue with R/R (when NKI is back) as team not strong enough
  6. Which currently means a rider finishing tenth after heat 20 could actually win the GP. A bit like having a main course taken from the freezer warmed up in a microwave and falsely served up as a freshly prepared dish. But for now - the GP format is what it is. I for one hope it is revised for the better next year if for no other reason than to remove the opportunity for Tatum to keep abbreviating Last Chance Qualifier. LCQ’s sounds like something he should take medication for. “Here comes the LCQ’s” - pass the medicine.
  7. Aint good news for him either,is he now having to pay money back to polish club?
  8. Today
  9. "Adults typically regain full range of motion by week eight, with progressive strengthening exercises introduced. Return to sports or full activity usually occurs around 10–12 weeks, provided X-rays confirm solid healing" Getting guests in every week isn't an option if Dan is going to be out for over 3 months. The management will already be looking for a new number 1 but it'll be difficult. This is really bad news for the Monarchs.
  10. No. It would be his current championship average converted.
  11. First league meeting this Saturday, surely a signing must be imminent.
  12. The evolution of me watching speedway on tele. Watch live with printed programme. Watch recorded show with no programme and fast forward through ads. Watch recorded show and fast forward through adds and other bits between races. Watch recorded show and fast forward through adds and all but the first lap. I did rewind if anything happened. Watch recorded show on FF and stopped if anything happened. Stop watching all together.
  13. I think Bowes will come good in time and with Poole being strong they are able to deal with his low scores by his standards . No need for any rash moves .
  14. The powers that be wants the main competitors to hopefully trip up on some occasions rather than it become a two or three horse race early in the series. The system we have now means you must make the final otherwise you very quickly have a mountain to climb . Whether we like it or not the idea is to level the plain-field( making it more of a lottery ) rather than letting water find it's own level which would invariable mean the series being dominated by the those that demonstrate consistency throughout theGP'S .
  15. Should be ok for home meetings , plenty of strong riders on paco , sedge and Kye to fend off away teams
  16. With Dan confirming he broke his collarbone last night, do we think Stewart will go down the R/R route rather than guests? Think latest averages (issue 5 26th Apr) would mean Nick Morris, Kyle Howarth and reserves cover the rides
  17. Swedish Speedway is back....... Always a decent watch....
  18. Note Redcar reserves scored 17 paid 20 at worky could be an interesting battle. I like your reserve copper a lot but this week he is extremely busy 5 meetings in 5 days including Poland today, and exam revision, just hope he doesn't burn out
  19. I think before bringing in more contrived rules... they should look at the current rules, instead of clobbering Northamptoningham with a no facility facility (absurd) for a rider that has not yet ridden they should allow a full facility especially if it can be proven the rider has actually signed a contract to ride... and if the sport is going to rely so so heavily on the guest system make sure that there are a pool of guests that are contractually obliged to guest. instead we have a system where it's totally up to the rider whether he chooses to accept the booking or not and even if he does he can change his mind at a moments notice... anyway that's getting on to a whole different subject! With Northamptoningham having around £75k on their hip after opening night they should have a bit of cash to splash... but as @paulnolan has already said the natives are restless, it's essential for any noobs to have a winning team, at least at home as they'll be lost before they come to love the subtleties of the sport after a few home losses. At the moment this is a carbon copy of Birmingham... but with crowds, but I fear they'll soon drop off and they'll be reliant on floaters, such as myself.
  20. Only problem the 🤡 won't listen, plenty of people offered to help at worky last year
  21. Nice to see you are still about on the speedway front.

  22. Maybe there is a case for new teams getting a few extra points towards team building? Maybe 5%..? Given they initially don't have home track knowledge it would even up the playing field somewhat . And, hopefully, provide some home victories early doors into the tenure... And it's not like UK Speedway isn't adverse to a bit of contrived rules and regs..
  23. Klindt is not a number 5, not in a million years... Charles Wright is unattached, when he's fit to return, he's not the answer though, Luke Becker? One of the ex-gp riders? Wozniak, Michelsen, Vaculik, Janowski, Huckenbeck... Tungate, Nilsson, Thorsell, DJ Woffy... all the usual suspects. None of them are going to set the world alight but are more likely than not going to score more that the 2 or 3 points that Klindt is currently offering. Klindt did this a couple of years back when he got binned off by Oxford, or was it Lynn, or did he go from Oxford to Lynn, can't remember, but I remember him saying at the time he can't set his bikes up during the colder early months... which I commented at the time was not great to hear from somebody with so much experience... but here we are again.
