Seems a bit of a gamble all round.

It’s back! So build a team upto 42.00 points and the highest end of the season average wins! Only 2 riders from each club are allowed in your team. Averages can be found on the 2026 teams thread on here or hopefully soon on the BSPL site. Previous results were: 2025: 1st Marky_Mark, 2nd Szkocjasid & 3rd Millersfan444. 2024: 1st DJC, 2nd Dukes & 3rd PotteringAround. 2023: 1st Islander15, 2nd Adz_mft & 3rd Hawks1975. 2022: 1st Diamonds85, 2nd Sings4Speedway & 3rd PotteringAround. 2021: 1st Hawks1975, 2nd Islander15 & 3rd Iron Scorpion. 2019: 1st Iand, 2nd Flipper11 & 3rd DJC. 2018: 1st Hunters, 2nd SKJ & 3rd CUFC_Brummie. 2017: 1st Eagles69, 2nd Islander15 & 3rd SKJ. 2016: 1st Halifax Tiger, 2nd John Leslie, 3rd Turn Two. Good luck everyone

I think for the sake of the fans it would be great if the owners and the ex track curator could kiss and make up,the track used to produce very entertaining racing -
Are they though? Not so sure about that, track records aren't being shattered by seconds, in fact many tracks have quite long standing track records. A lot got broken in 2023 but only by fractions of seconds and over 4 laps. Also brittle or not, I can't see that having much effect on the design flaw of the bags keeping lifting.

The company having only one named director (Lemon) is interesting - once speedway has been set up and is running, at minimal possible cost, additional directors who've been waiting in the wings may come on board with working capital, enabling Lemon to step away. Trying to strengthen up the team and do more to market and promote locally would probsbly be a priority. Question is how soon would that happen, and if so makes it doubly important everything's ready to roll by the 30th

Congratulations to Paul Cooper, great result

Tight home win 46-44 I reckon -
I may be wrong here, but the fences we have on British tracks maybe are a few years old now and perhaps have become more brittle with age. Worth remembering as well the bikes now are much faster than they were when air fences came in.

Looks like we have a spammer on the forum

I understand that this is only a challenge and that Max Perry and Alfie Bowtell have apparent pre-existing commitments elsewhere. So no problem with them covering for these two with Rider Replacement and a guest (Darryl Ritchings). But I can't fathom why Buxton are replacing their non-existent reserve with a second string to take them way over the (already too high) points limit. Surely the spirit of Buxton is to bring on young riders, not to chase wins with ringers? Wouldn't it have made more sense to try out a rider who actually fits within the points limit and who could be their actual legal reserve? Owen Booth (above) sounds like a candidate in need of track time?

I'd hope that Jamie is having a well earned rest, after what has probably been a bloody stressful week.

Fabulous to hear as I feared the worst after hearing a few things over recent days. Would be good for the club to put some meat on the bones to provide assurance of longevity though.

Speaking with those flying around the moon was clearer....😁

This situation highlights the differences on either side of the fence. There's absolutely no way the Oxford management can keep fans fully up-to-date in a Sky News-esque ticker tape style barrage of information. Situations change constantly. So constantly that confusion would be the main outcome, with folks struggling to keep up. What are they expected to reveal? 'We have meetings planned'? A bit bland and unlikely to appease the news-hungry punter. They also most likely won't be allowed to reveal significant details of those meetings. The only thing that matters is whether the club has a future. It's a simple yes or no. On this occasion, happily, it's a yes. On the other side of the coin, fans can feel they're left in the dark, whilst craving updates aplenty. 'We are the lifeblood of the club. We deserve to know'. Well, yes, you do. But you only need to know the end result. The rest, if you're not a company official is, quite frankly, none of your business. It has to be kept in-house. The statement from the management is acceptable in my view. Good luck to Oxford.
