Ipswich v Sheffield Thursday 16th July
ShanoXtra replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
These kind of reactions from him shows why krakow kicked him out of their team last week. He needs to be removed from the Witches squad with immediate effect. I was at the meeting so didn’t hear all of this stuff that was being shown on BSN but reading this is just the final piece of the puzzle to get him removed. -

Most matches Lawson is one of the last to arrive and then rocks up with dirts bikes, and if he is about in the pits before the meeting he don't always bother with the track walk or parade, he may be a regular points scorer home and away but he certainly aint no team player, dunno how his attitude rubs off with the rest of the team in the pits. -

After the meeting when all the riders went to wave to the fans and the fans stayed behind. Pissed me off that did! -

When BSN asked Hurry who was in Heat 15, he said: “Brennan and Nicholls because that’s all I’ve got left!”. -
Sheffield’s last two matches have shown that R/R at home and guests away for Jack Holder aren’t brining in the points he would have scored. If they look to replace Jack Holder and possibly Jye Etheridge what points would they have to play with? Wonder if they might go down the route to try and make team more solid down lower end and try find two riders to do that (easier said than done I know) say Charles Wright and a.n.other?

Watching BSN, Lawson looked like he was frustrated with the track and obviously decided after heat 12 he was going home, not a good look. There should be a rule that no rider should be packing stuff away until the final race has been completed. In football you don’t see Subs walking off ten minutes before the final whistle to get changed even if all the subs have been used. -
Premiership 2027 - Are You Interested??
IainB replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Okay let's unpack and examine what you and some others are saying here... British Speedway develops these riders by providing them with team spots in at least 2 and sometimes 3 leagues in the UK, regular meetings across the the country at different tracks offering different conditions, points scoring opportunities, bike time and a chance to earn some money... but then we allow them to regularly miss those meetings to go and ride either individually, for their country or even for clubs in other country's... but to what end? How does this benefit British Speedway, I'm yet to hear a single valid reason from anybody who is in favour of letting this kind of thing continue 🤷♂️ The senior and junior GB Speedway teams have only ridden in the UK a handful of times over the last 10-15 years, they have been quite successful yet have got pretty much zero media coverage from this and certainly little to no extra bums on seats. In fact exactly the opposite due to the regular gaps in domestic team line-up's and meetings due to this folly! We've had a 3 x World Champion, a World No 2, a World No 3, an SoN gold, an SoN silver, has this benefited British Speedway? At junior level pretty much zilch! The junior level events are not even covered on TV anymore and when they were they were tucked away on obscure streaming channels... the only way to follow these young lads escapades on the continent now is on the Speedway Updates website if you're lucky! And if these kids do make it to a decent standard and clear off leaving British Speedway behind like DJ Woffy and Lambot...How does any of that benefited British Speedway? International Speedway is almost dead in this country, the GP has gone from 40,000 attending Cardiff to barely 6,000 in Manchester, no test matches, nothing for the U21's. That is the reality of all of our success at the World level. To advocate the continuation of this behaviour is very much in the Business As Usual camp. The only other team sport, that I can think of, that follows this model is Cricket... but they have the luxury of a massive TV contract and full house crowds following a national team that regularly appears at home and abroad in Test, ODI & T20 matches. They have a backup domestic competition that is superbly promoted with The Hundred and T20 Blast, players regularly miss matches for "their clubs", especially when on international duty... unfortunately we're missing all of that and just have what would be the equivalent of the County Championship with hardly anybody attending or really caring who wins, except for a few die hard social misfits. It is little more than a proving ground for up and coming players and a chance for journeymen to keep their hand in. If these Speedway riders want to put the odd continental meeting ahead of a full campaign in the UK, absolutely good luck to them 👍but it cannot continue at the expense of British Speedway and not just Team GB riders but any rider that decides he wants to top his earnings up by doing the occasional meeting in the UK. Don't get me wrong I am not laying the blame for all of this at the riders, the governing bodies in the country have allowed this to happen and often encouraged it, I cannot understand for the life of me why though, but one thing is for definite, the fans have said a resounding Nope! -

Probably the toughest Team decision they'll ever have to make imo. King's GSA will be in the same bracket as No.5's and he can't ride at No.5 so it's a big problem when it comes to Team Building. Do Mayfield go for an out-an-out No.1 and then scrap a No.5 altogether to fit King in or do they ship King off to Northampton and go with a proper No.1 and No.5? Brennan should be pencilled in for the No.3 imo so King may have to ride with his head a little bit to keep his average down if he wants to return imo, Try and let Brennan finish ahead of him when Team Riding like Lawson has done for years when it comes to his Team partners. - Today

Try a sample size of more than just one meeting next time, how about comparing a British GP with some of the tripe Leicester has served up over the years for example. -

Actually this season he's only in as an injury replacement... but I take your point and was actually thinking very much the same thing last night, when he first came to the UK a couple of years ago as a "full time" GP rider I, and maybe Lynn, thought they were going to get an 8 or 9 pointer, turns out he's more of a 6 or 7 pointer, a welcome addition to the league anyway and somebody who appears to want to ride here 👍 -
Workington v Poole 18/07/26 6pm Championship.
szkocjasid replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
1) Bowes is injured not "injured" 2) Poole didn't "sneak" Luke Harrison in at reserve, they made a shrewed guest selection 3) Every guest selection will probably be stronger than Bowes because he's been in poor form all year. Poole are hardly likely to say "we'll only sign weak guests to match Bowes scoring" 4) when Jacobsen was missing, on his assessed, did Workington refuse to give Zischke a r/r outing because Jacobsen wasn't really a "5 point rider", or only use 3 point guests? Of course not, they'd plan to be the strongest the rules allowed. 5) with a strong choice of guest, I expect Poole could romp this. -

Glasgow v Edinburgh Scottish Cup 1st Leg 11th July
TigerIain replied to eide67's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The obvious guest we could have used was Tate Zischke! (Unless Edinburgh had asked him first) For a home match, I make it that only Josh Pickering and Richard Lawson could not guest for Kyle at the moment from the Championship averages. Of the Premiership only riders I think Ben Cook's average would allow him to guest for Kyle. Possibly some riders weren't in the country though? If I remember correctly Plymouth were racing Berwick that night ruling out the likes of King, Nichols and Kildemand that not. -

Tough tough decision to be made. Home track specialist yes, expensive average for away from home 💯 -
How on earth do you expect to find 100+ riders willing to make British Speedway their priority over Poland? It's a nice dream, but i'm afraid that's all it is. Perhaps a more realistic aim would he Championship riders having to put British Speedway first (don't allow facilities for missing fixtures to race in foreign leagues).

Hope you enjoyed the meeting and overall happy with the riders and management Regarding King in 2027 it will be easy for Mayfield to move him on, but he's been a great servant to the witches and British Speedway
