  2. Apart from the supporters of many years including those lapsed followers It is doubtful that anyone else cares about the facts and now the sport at its highest level in the UK is of little interest and is unlikely to survive many more seasons in its current form. It needs to gamble on starting again with one league and riders who commit to the British league without fear or favour of overseas leagues. Poland pays top dollar and can dictate what the clubs riders do and that is understandable but in the UK that luxury does not exist so stop pretending and stop paying for the service of the European league riders who cannot/ will not commit 100% to UK speedway. That is fine and clubs in the UK just need to build teams without these guys. If the sport wants to have these riders grace tracks in the UK then hold an individual open tournament. For the domestic scene build from the ground up, use a different business model, appeal to a new generation of supporters and make it more accessible to prospective riders by standardising the equipment and embrace modern technology and new formats. Make a meeting more than just a league meet of x number of heats. Have scratch races, the fastest one lap competition, head to head for golden helmet and handicap races. It needs something different and it can be so good but it does not always need the worlds best riders to produce good racing or exciting racing. Can it happen, possibly, will it happen, unlikely given the management of the sport and the fickle supporters who believe the world revolves solely around league racing and then complain about the lack of a pipeline of new talent. Riders of all levels need track time and back in the day they got it with the second half of a meeting, now they are largely ignored by the mainstream clubs.
  3. I find it hard to see the great destination people are making between the leagues. The Premiership can hardly be described as an elite league, in a very real sense it's the Championships with a sprinkling of elite riders.
  4. The team who replaced him and won the league...?
  5. If the two N'hampton meetings had gone ahead (tonights was to have been r2 in the original fixtures) we'd have had half of our home fixtures for the season. Two home meetings a month is workable until the weather hits or there is no other team free to come.
  6. As one of Ryans sponsors, I can confirm he does have a school exam... like most 16 year olds these days do
  7. Undoubtedly the correct decision, that was not in question, what is questionable is why Sheffield have only ridden at home 4 times this year... Leicester also 4 by the end of June! In a spring that has had 23% less rain than usual.
  8. How does it backfire, we replaced a rider who got injured. Very silly comment.
  9. Could bring a fair bit of publicity this....
  10. Just throwing something together within the 37.00 limit to prove how easy it was for Mayfield to fit Doyley back in whilst protecting Tom Brennan who's clearly struggling @ No.1. 1. J. Doyle 7.86 2. Hellstrom-Bangs 4.50 3. T. Brennan 7.24 4. D. King 6.67 5. T. Musielak 6.44 6. 4.29 (Few options but Klima is the pick of the bunch) 7. J. Edwards (RS)
  11. Well it is raining in Sheffield right now,so it was the right call.
  12. Today
  13. It is only boring to you because Poole are successful in it and you obviously hate that. If other prem promoters want Poole to move back up need Weds and tv deal. Though through listening to interviews even though Matt is open to moving up, Danny isn't as keen.
  14. Sounds like bringing something we don't know about 😀
  15. A match that if Scunny had their actual team would be a comfortable home win. Now not so easy. Much stronger with R/R for Gilkes and even stronger at reserve with Wood in place of the probably non scoring Ingram, who apparently has an “exam”
  16. Footings and ducting for the cables have been installed, some floodlights have arrived, been put out of the gypo's way for now, but unfortunately I think the other floodlights are being delayed by Donald trump, stuck on a boat in the middle east. The same as everyone's Xmas presents 😜
  17. As an example. By June 24th this year, Sheffield will have ridden four home matches. At the same date in 2008, they had completed fourteen home matches. I think this helps to understand why some fans get out of the habit, and why riders want/need more than one league.
  18. Championship is far from boring, we don't get the same teams every other week racing each other. Yes i have read the Belle Vue thread, and deep down your not happy about it
  19. Both sides at full strength on Friday (Live on BSN). Redcar: Klindt, Piper, Lambert, Edwards, Allen, Mulford, Scott Plymouth: King, Thompson, Klima, Barker, Nicholls, Grmek, Spencer Should be a cracking two-legged contest.
  20. Oh I agree her definitely does …. One ex witch was very vocal in telling people how much help both Doyle and Emil were in the pits regarding set ups and overall morale ….. the same ex witch said a certain side he rode for the top boys offered no help and kept themselves to themselves and the team morale was low …. It wasn’t Belle Vue but I will let you work it out …. im sure Doyle will help Tate and cairns no end
  21. We understand why it just makes a mockery of it all and the championship is boring because of it No issues with Doyle going Belle Vue … obviously you haven’t read the Belle Vue thread … bit thick commenting before finding facts
  22. Jason Doyle have decided to leave Västervik and has thus broken his contract with them.
  23. Great to see Doyley back in the uk. He can get his average down ready to come back home to Ipswich next season.
