Jeez that's about 200k in sterling is it really that much now to pay for a couple of bikes and mechanics over the season ?
-
I don't think I've seen any complaints about it. And it's not really to do with money, just a way of helping players get more games. Each round is heavily featured on the BBC Sport page with live updates, commentary etc. Every game is also streamed live for free on YouTube.

They said that about Premier League Football though and we're still waiting for that particular bubble to burst... I won't hold my breath.

This is the sad part about Poland. If they actually worked together, they could basically halve rider's wages overnight and very little would change. The riders would still be earning several times more than anything in Sweden or GB, and the clubs would become far more sustainable. It might even be a good thing for the rest of world speedway. As it is, it seems it's only going one way long term, and the bubble will burst.

Equals cost of two bikes & maintenance for a season. Although not a huge amount, good to see at least one promotion making it clear that riders need to earn their income on the track.

I actually thought it threw up some interesting racing. Again it looks better being there to see it live rather than on tv. The control some of those lads had for their experience level was superb. Especially as it’s the first time most of them had riden Foxhall competitively. Thir attitude & willingness to attack the track certainly shows up some of the pro riders attitude.

The guys who are high 30’s in age must be breathing a sigh of relief that they don’t have to worry about the future of speedway! Speedway in Poland over the next few years will start to decline due to riders rinsing the clubs for money and it’s finally showing that clubs can’t sustain it. I heard one U24 rider wanted 1 million zloty to sign for stal, not naming anyone direct, but stal quickly said this shows the mindset of riders and what they think they can demand, and no the rider in question wasn’t someone worthy of 1 million zloty!

Tai’s story is being sold with SGP not British speedway next year 😉

Is that a serious question lol?

The meeting was abandoned due to curfew. The pairs race does not officially stand, although Kev on the centre green said Ipswich will recognise the result. Cooper was who most people went tonight to watch let’s be honest and he didn’t disappoint, best moves made by him and best bike control when he almost ended up on the stock car track. To finish 2nd only to a Premiership rider isn’t a bad nights work. I’m sure Mr Louis will have his eye on him. Probably a crowd of 200/300? The back straight stand was almost empty with everyone choosing to stand on bends one and two which is normally underneath the cameras, or in the smaller start line stand, I was there so can’t say how it looked on TV. Ipswich held the best 2025 crowd last week (including Manchester SGP), tonight was more like our equivalent crowd for SoN 😂

Last time I walked past your vehicle at Hi Edge you were trackside with your Brother with a bag of Werthers Originals on the dashboard😉You never wound down the window to offer me one🤔

The White Knight started following 200 + riders !!!!

Maybe that is the way Speedway is going right now, unfortunately.

Maybe those are the reasons why the county championship gets little to no media coverage these days with only the occasional match shown on Sky Sports these days.
